wow. i got chills reading this. thank goodness :)

my ex husband is also obsessed w/it - saved the newspapers, magazine, even the tv guide w/it on the cover. he was a few blocks away and stood there and watched it all. it destroyed him as a person in ways i cannot even begin to explain. sad.

I know someone who had an extremely similar experience, but the other direction- his job had just moved OUT and it was his first day in a different building.

this girl knows nothing of the pain we suffered

i lost 100 friends and family members and almost my brother

not to mention i lived 5 blocks from it
    damn, 100 people? that's horrible. i'm sorry :(

i have a photo of my sis and i on top of one of the towers, taken a couple years prior, i couldn't even stomach seeing it anymore so i took it off my bookshelf. and people having calendars? creepy.

i visited ground zero last year and had to leave out of total disgust, seeing people selling souvenirs like paintings and calendars and such.

*edit* and another thing, that chick shouldn't have all that stuff paraded about at work. what if someone comes by that lost someone in that tragedy?

The chick is an absolute weirdo. I really understand keeping the newspaper or magazine because as sad as it is, it's a part of history. I just can't understand why all the other stuff that surrounds her desk. It freaks me out and she is sitting there right now probably searching the internet for more photos from that day..:o

  • then you can clean up her desk while she's away for the rest of the day. or just make this her new background.

seriously though she maybe should seek help, it was 7 years ago and no one she knew died in it? she should get over it.

    your right..

i can't help but think, if she has that much stuff at her cubicle, imagine how much stuff is in her HOUSE. eek!

i was really interested in the whole thing after it happened, more as a process of trying to understand. it was devastating to everybody, even if you were clear on the other side of the country. but being educated and obsessing are two different things. i still don't think it's appropriate to have that stuff all over the place at work, out of respect for someone who might come through who was directly affected by it. just common sense, which eludes a LOT of people lol

It's not that she's really traumatized by all of it. She just likes to feel all warm and fuzzy inside about being the "victim" of big bad muslim aggression. She's the kind of woman who falsely accuses men of raping her. She probably has a copy of the bible tucked away in every drawer of her house and in her cubicle. During her breaks, she clutches onto a copy and prays to Jesus and asks him to protect her from terrorism.

If you have any arab and/or muslim employees at your work, then she probably watches them and takes careful notes about their activities. She'll one day plant explosives in one of their cubicles and try to frame them for attempted terrorism. When she's caught, she'll say she was only doing god's work.

She's your typical modern-day self-righteous muslim-hating christian who uses 9/11 as an excuse to justify the latter day crusade that the rest of us refer to as the war in Iraq. You can almost guarantee that she voted for Bush both times and regards him as a misunderstood genius.

She only dates firemen and gives them handjobs on the first date because she believes it is her patriotic duty.

  • she is completely obsessed with September 11th 2001. I mean she has her wallpaper set to the World Trade Centers, she has two huge picture books on her desk all having to do with the aftermath. It kind of weird. I thought maybe she lost someone there that day, but nope. She even has a calendar of the twin towers.

Maybe she did know somebody that was affected by 9-11 and doesn't wanna talk about it. Why not just respect that?

She didn't, she made sure to tell us it is just out of curiousity. Kind of strange..

Start putting up massive posters of Osama Bin Laden around your cubicle, making sure she can see them clearly, and see if SHE moves!

    Good thinking!!

Ive read at least 25-30 books on Bin Laden, CIA, Sept 11 hijackers etc. I quite often get comments such as

are you Muslim? whats your fascination with Bin Laden? Are you a terrorist? CIA?? etc etc

Some people 'seriously' question it. At the end I throw in 'did I tell you Im getting my pilots license?" (thats a joke)
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
