Nice effort for the most part, but the talent just doesnt match up to the Ducks.

see post above about the 3 Olympic forwards traded. Carter, Richards and JVR over 2 Schenn's, Voracek and Simmonds? uhh yup.

I have no issue with those trades. Outside of the regression of L. Schenn, you really cant complain about the play of the other 3 players.

The defense on this team is either old, slow or just plain bad. They are the highest paid blue line and are nowhere near worth the money. Easily the weakest link on the team at this point.

2 of those 3 traded guys are going to be 30 goal scorers this year. 2 of those 3 played a prominent role in a Cup winner and a top 5 team again this year. carter and Richards played in a Stanley Cup final then finished 2nd in the regular season the year after for the Flyers before the trades. those trades while looked decent at the time, if this team misses the playoffs again this year (which I think it does) then those trades should go down as disasters.

JVR for Luke Schenn is a horrible trade on all levels. Flyers traded a good player who they drafted in the 2nd round for a journeyman defensemen. Was in Toronto earlier this year and Leafs fans were laughing about this trade to me.

LA wins that Cup regardless if Richards and Carter are on that team. They did not play major roles in that Cup run.

Voracek has been solid, as has B. Schenn. He is still very young. Toss in Simmons who has been a beast, and its a no-brainer IMO.

Yes, right now the Schenn for JVR looks bad. Remember, Schenn was actually pretty damn good last year, the best D-man on the team for most of the year.
That trade was made out of necessity...again. Blame Holmgren for the fact that he keeps drafting Centers instead of positions of need(aka, Defense) Look at S. Couturier or S. Laughton. Both Centers picked when the organization was already well off in that area. If they draft D. Hamilton instead of him, then there is no need to trade JVR for a defenseman.

The organization needs to start focusing on D..and as you can see from last years draft, they are finally wisening up.

Umm Carter tied for their playoff lead in goals with 8 and Richards was 4th in playoff points for the team with 15 during that Cup run. I'd say that's major roles

3 names as to why they won:
    J. Quick- played out of his mind in the playoffs
    D. Doughty- stud D- man
    D. Brown-

Speaking of the kings and incredibly random. Apparently dustin brown is from Ithaca and played lacrosse. I had no idea. It is almost certain that I played against him growing up. It would have been impossible not to have. I had no clue though. I believe he stopped playing before high school but it doesn't really matter. If he played around that time, we played against each other. Just wish I knew when and all

I'll say. 4 out of 6 points against all tough opponents. I expected 2 points max.

Interesting that they had 2 big wins with Timonen out of the lineup.

=D> I turned it off the game at the end of the 2nd period (had to get up early today). Honestly didn't think they were gonna beat San Jose, nice to see when i woke up the score :D

Another quality win against the Avs. Mason should have had the SO.

2 games left until the Olympic break.

Talk about a Jeckyll and Hyde team. The week before this they didn't even look like a playoff team.

although I don't think we would be the 7th seed. Wouldn't we be at least the 6th seed? Not sure how the seeding works with the new divisions and conferences and all.

Right, we would be the 6th seed(3rd best record in the Metro Div)
Then the two remaining teams with the most points in the Eastern Conf would make up the 2 Wild Card spots.
