Is this even possible? I call bullshit.
Unless he hit a tree root or a rock or got pissed and smashed up his club. I've never seen a club splinter, especially up top near the grip.
bryz is a russian spy...he sabotaged giroux's club
or giroux was wasted and doing something stupid...leading to the spin that his club 'shattered'
either one seems plausible0 -
first preseason game is 5 weeks from tomorrow. wont be long...0

they need to get in on this:

In a couple weeks. Its great. Get to see all the prospects in a tournament and every game is televised locally.0 -

ESPN rankings of the top forwards in hockey. Giroux at #10
Other interesting rankings:
Jeff Carter #31 (not exactly 6 on every good team better than him that the Fixer tried to argue a few years ago)
Mike Richards #47
Joffrey Lupul #51
James Van Riemsdyk - #54
next Flyers on the list Simmons and Voracek tied at #60
and still some insist that the trade of Carter and Richards (and JVR) were good for this franchise :fp:0 -

I still have no problem with the Carter/Richards trade. J. Lupul had a nice year last year...doesnt even remotely make him a Top 50 player. Lets see him repeat that again, then we can talk.
Same with JVR. For the record, Luke Schenn had a very nice year for the Flyers, who would have an even scarier D-corp right now if he wasnt a part of it.And so you see, I have come to doubt

Luke Schenn is solid but they did trade a guy who was the 2nd pick in the draft for him. JVR's upside is still huge. and Luke Schenn wasn't listed as one of the top 50 defensemen in the league in their defense rankings.
Carter was also invited to the Canadian Olympic team camp, one of only 30 forwards to be invited. I think that says a lot especially considering the abuse the guy has taken from Flyers fans (and a lot in this thread).
can't believe the NHL season starts in like 2 weeks. way too early.0 -
God I miss 81, season about to start and he's still MIA. Guess it'll have to be shit talking thru texts instead of here....0

SEASON STARTS TOMORROW.

Not really excited about hockey season yet.
At most I see this team as a #6 or #7 in the Conference. And so you see, I have come to doubt

season starts way too early and is too long. make it about 60 games
have you seen the new divisions? Flyers in a division called Metropolitan. and how are Detroit, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto considered Atlantic? what are they at least 1000 miles each from the Atlantic Ocean?
only top 3 from each division plus two wild cards make the playoffs. going to be interesting. this team has to get off to a good start.0 -
the Division names are shite.0

For some reason, I just don't have a good feeling about this year. Hopefully I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just depressed from the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers and last years Flyers.
Let's go Flyers!Alright, alright, alright!

Basically you got Pittsburgh. Can count on them having 100+ points probably.
Then you have the Rangers. Many have them pegged with Vigneault as being really good. For the sake of prediction, let's say they are good (even though I have suspicion).
In the "Atlantic" (lol) it is very top-heavy. You got:
Boston
Detroit
Ottawa
Wildcard
"Metropolitan" (lol)
Pittsburgh
Rangers
Spot 3 - Washington - Columbus - Islanders
Wildcard: 2 spots - Toronto - Montreal - 2 "Metro" teams who cant claim 3rd
shite: Carolina, Buffalo, Tampa, Florida, NJ, Philly.
Any of the "shite" teams can certainly surprise, challenge for the Wildcard or even #3. You can probably make a case for any one of them
The Eastern Conference (is that what its called?) seems pretty solidly stratified0 -
