Why are they maybe trying to get rid of Coburn?
Because all of the D makes too much money as a whole, need to shed salary to make room for other moves.

Bobrovsky being offered to teams by the Blue Jackets. Told he wants $6 mil per. Columbus in market for a goalie.

got to love a franchise that in 2013 we draft a guy and talk about how well he can fight :fp: fn franchise still stuck in the 1970s.

That pick was a head-scratcher, and you are right... typical of Philly. I thought for sure it would be Zadorov or Shinkaruk. Possibly Domi or Pulock (although I dont like Pulock or Domi)

its a good draft though. There will be a very good player available at #11

Possibly Zadurov, Ristolainen, or Pulock as D, Fucale as a Goalie. 2-3 of those guys should be available.

Unless they maybe make a rush and trade into the 6-10 range if Nurse lingers around.

Im pumped that Buffalo got 2 of those... Could have/should have had Fucale in the 2nd when they traded with Carolina.

I think he's talking about the 3rd pick, which was absolutely wasted.

I dont mind the S. Morin pick. A little bit of a project, but he could be fantastic in 2-3 yrs.

Flyers were lucky to have Hagg fall to them in the 2nd Rd.

Buffalo had a monster draft(pun intended). Gotta believe Flyers would have taken Ristolainen had Buff not taken him just before.

    T. Myers, Zadorav, Ristolainan. Wow.

They also have Brayden McNabb who is 6'4 205 and should hopefully be ready this season.

Schneider to the Devils is interesting. Didnt see that coming.

lecavalier supposed to announce his decision within next 48 hours. flyers are the favorites. expected to get 5-6 years.

No way I'd give him that many years.

Would be stupid. Plus he apparently wants 5/5.5M per season. No thanks.

if they give him 5 years i would fire Holmgren right away.

I am still mad that he didn't trade up in the draft.

so apparently the flyers are also thinking about Timmy Thomas

I dont think 5 years at $5.5 is that bad, really. He would be 37-38 at the end of the deal.

For the Flyers, I think they should step out of the "go get it" mode and work on building again for 2-3 years down the line, while getting rid of the old, amassing picks/prospects, while keeping their own. It is what the Sabres are doing and I fully support it. The days of being able to build a team through FA is over. Long Term contracts have killed that, as well as teams becoming very careful of re-signing their most valuable pieces, while trading the less valuable.

Instead, I could see them making a dumb trade for Ryan, signing LeCavalier and Thomas, having no defense, and having it blow up again, only this time there arent buy-outs.

Thomas wouldnt surprise me. They do need someone a little older, who is on board with playing partial games to go along with Mason.
    Short contract, decent money.

David William Naylor ‏@TSNDaveNaylor 1m @DarrenDreger just read from his text live on #TSNDrive ... He asked a Flyers source "Did you guys get Lecavailier?" Answer: "Yes" #Flyers

Sigh, if true, the length better be reasonable.

    Tim Panaccio @tpanotchCSN now

Source says 5 year $4.5mill for Lecavalier.

The Cap hit is fine, the length sucks.

3 years would be reasonable. A trade must be coming now. I'd like Bob back in net.

    I actually like this deal.

Holmgren has some more work to do.

Coburn will be gone. I expect a goalie here by Friday afternoon.

I've always liked Vinny. He's what 33? Maybe he'll be energized in a new spot.
