Ed Snider took a little Hispanic kid in when I worked down there. He met him through the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation and for some reason, Snider really took to the kid. His name was Geraldo and he was allowed to do WHATEVER he wanted in the arena. Had team made jerseys with his name and all. All of the event staff were told to basically let him go anywhere and do whatever he wanted. He was allowed on the court, always had a courtside seat even when Snider wasn't around, was allowed in locker rooms after the games, etc. Also, he was a little piece of shit. He even had a cubicle in the Sixers offices. Before one Sixers game (I witnessed this in person), the daughter of a certain former Phillies' GM who was working for the Sixers was trying to get work done while little Geraldo was blasting rap music. She kindly asked him to turn it down and his was response was "would you like me to call Mr. Snider to see if I have to turn it down?". There are many stories along these lines, but my favorite Gerlado story happened in the Lexus Club. I had my family and a couple friends in town and we were all at a Sixers game for fun. We were in the Lexus Club where Snider, his wife and Geraldo were sitting eating. My buddy was staring at them for a good 5 minutes when he realized that Snider would take a bite of a chicken wing put it down and Geraldo would pick it up and finish the rest of it off. The lasting image of Ed Snider for me will always be a little hispanic kid eating his chicken bone scraps in public and he and his wife either not noticing or acting like it was completely normal.

Found out a couple years later that Geraldo fucked it up and wasn't allowed around anymore. Big surprise.

    How old was this kid?
Probably between 10-12, I would guess...
sounds more like a sandusky story to me. you sure you're not getting them mixed up?
    Ha, it was quite weird.

And I'd just like to note that my friend had no clue who snider or this kid were when he saw this happening and it was pretty much "why is that Hispanic kid eating the old white guys leftover chicken wings"

Couturier injured his shoulder- may be out for awhile.
Jake Voracek simply needs to play much better, injured foot or not. Making some terrible decisions out there.
On the other end of the spectrum, B. Schenn has played great and had a great game. Hope that Voracek contract doesnt come back to bite them.

A dead tired PK unit gives up a bouncer and a Voracek TO leads to one. I still feel they're in it, but Coots out is going to kill. Need to steal one Saturday.

Not sure they enough scoring to win this, hoping I'm wrong. Don't understand why Ghost skated right past the guy who scored the 2nd goal after the Voracek turnover. I know he was making a change but the guy was uncovered. He could've easily picked him up.

Voracek sucked all year. $68 million dollar extension and he scored 11 goals, or 1 more than Vinny Lecavielier did in LA.

had to score on one of the 1st period power plays. knew they were in trouble when that period ended 0-0. Thought Mason was really good again though. Win the next one and put some pressure on this team and see how they respond.

Agree with this. Holtby is at the top of his game this year. Need to score. Putting 19 shots on net
isnt going to knock off the President's Trophy winner, unless Mason channels Hasek in his prime.

I would be encouraged if I were a Flyers fan. They did a bit better than I thought they would in game 1. However, Game 1 in theory would be the easiest to win because the Caps had everything wrapped up long ago and you had to figure they may need to 'adjust' back into playoff mode.
I thought Gostisbehere looked pretty rough. Also, they needed to stay TFO of the box in the 3rd

Last year the times I went to the games Voracek was clearly the best player on the ice. With the puck, without the puck, he was always doing something good.
This year that is so not the case. He got better as the year went on, though.

Thought there was solid play last night, win Saturday and this is a series.

I still think they make a series out of this.
I'd love to see Matt Read contribute in any kind of way.
Ghost is struggling- hes never played this many games and teams are focusing on him.
Plus the PP is so predictable, teams are locking down both Giroux and Ghost and there is no other threat from the right side.

matt read sucks, so don't hold your breath. He and streit (who was singlehandedly responsible for the first goal in game one) better not be on this roster next year.

would be nice to win tonight but I think they blew their chance in game one. Their PP (and mark streit's old crusty ass) killed them.

not easy to watch them get worked by a more talented team. we have to keep in mind that they are playing with house money at this point. even if they get swept, this has been an overwhelmingly positive season. better days are ahead.
