Just got a kitten...

  • They do get along for the most part. Madeline and Caitlin have some tension, but I live in a one room loft so they really have learned to share the space. Noah and Caitlin are like mother and son.. they love each other. Madeline and Aubrey get along well too. Noah can be a bit of a terror, but that comes with being a spunky kitten. Madeline has a bad attitude though.. we call her monkey.. she's a bitchy monkey..
you forgot to tell her about your upcoming show "Cat Whisperer" :D
I will be what i could be

7 months? I would have been devastated. Oria was 12 so she had a long happy life. Doesn't make it hurt any less though. It happened quickly and I was devastated. Still think about her everyday. Especially now that spring is here. She loved to go outside...on a leash and supervised of course. All I had to do was say the word "outside" and she would run to the front door. Gonna be rough when its time to lay in the sun. :(

I think she's gonna be Chloe. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! :)

Devastated is right. I'm glad I had some travel planned for the Ed shows. Moping around looking at the empty spots by the windows where she used to sit and the box of cat toys sitting idle was breaking my heart. Srping is hard for me too because she never lived to see her first one and use the outside play enclosure I built. I have been going around to my local shelter to volunteer and play with the cats. I'm going to get two sibling kittens soon. Think I'll name them EV and Stoney, no matter their gender.

Sounds like Oria lucked out getting you as her human. Have a good time with Chloe : )

Oh I saw it alright. I chose to ignore it :p
  • hmm if I had a boy cat I'd name him elvis, but I don't know what I'd name a girl. I like roxie and frankie better than dahlia- dahlia is *too* much of a people name.

Yes, I only had boy names picked out... It was either going to be Slash or Vedder but I chose the girl because of her colors and markings. Just couldn't give her a masculine name so Chloe she became. (I made a rhyme!) I had forgotten how cute kittens are. And watching PJ, who is 3.5, try to deal with her is just as cute. She doesn't even seem to care he's like 10 times her size!
    PJ FANS ROCK!!!

Finally got that "One for the Thumb"!!! Got the "Six Pack". Now we're on a "Stairway to Seven"

Some words when spoken...can't be taken back.

I think chloe was a good choice.
haha I had actually recently thought of slash as a cat's name too.
I don't have any cats, I'm wicked allergic, but I wish I did, so sometimes I come up with names for them :).

At one point I was extremely allergic... Guessing maybe I grew out of it. Although a month or so back we went to a cat show at a convention center...OMG, my allergies were going like mad. Guess I can handle 2 in my own world but not 100+ in one place.

That's awesome! I have always said when you can leave a kid w/ a litter box and a bowl of food is when I'll have one. What are your kitties names? That's also awesome that you work at a shelter... I could never do that. I would probably start hoarding kitties!

That's what I love about cats. I have three of the little monsters. My wife and I can vanish into the mountains at a moment's notice and all I have to do is throw out a little extra food and water and we can be gone for a week, no worries. My cats come and go as they please and I love and respect their indifference to humanity. Dogs are always up in your business, might as well have kids...

Congratulations on your new family member! Cats are so awesome. We have six - they were all taken in as strays who needed us.

Thank you. The guy I got her from had probably 5 or 6...3 of them kittens. Older ones did not even have names. They were being kept outside so I am guessing she needed me. He kept trying to get me to take more but 2 is enough in a 2 bedroom apt. How can you have animals that don't have names if they are older than like 6 months? :(

How about Meow-Meow Kitty? My cat loves that name!

Found out why she was peeing in the house (not a bladder infection)....she was unaware that her reflection was not another cat....found her hissing at her reflection in a mirror we have resting on the floor while we reno the bathroom...She got really angry and ran under the bed for a couple of days...but I laughed like hell!!

So, if you have a kitten, get it acquainted with its reflection!!

    hahaha
My cat poofed up like a raccoon when she first saw her reflection and her back was all hunched as she paced around in front of the mirror.
Any time something spooks her her tail still poofs up. Quite funny. She's only had the piss scared out of her (literally) once.
