OK Debbie Downer.. so much for a little daydream.

I would want to be Miss Holloway on "Mad Men." To be single in NYC in the early 60s, have a fabulous wardrobe and pay $35 a month for an apartment? Yes!
Plus I'd get to smoke everywhere & get drunk on my lunchbreak without getting in trouble.

The OP got me thinking the wild west would be a blast, but yeah, i wouldn't have been born ok and I would have died from all the colds I had in my preteens. Im healthy now though! How I would just love it, if someone did me wrong now, to just fucking shoot them in the back.

    I'm joking...........a little bit :D

as a woman, now time like the present.
while some of the clothes and such are really cool in the past...the opression, lack of choice...not so much. so right now is cool with me. :) might like the future even more tho...who knows?

The other thing about times gone by, especially the old west, is the smell!! People didn't acknowledge the wonderfulness of bathing! Also trash disposal was throwing it behind the building. I'm tasting my lunch coming back up just thinking about it...

in regards to clothes..i love the flapper era...and i really adore the whole big wig and corset era. granted, i know the corsets were HELL to wear, the wigs to hide lice :o....but i still think damn cool. i'd love to try it out for halloween sometime in any case if the costumes weren't so bloody expensive to rent!

regarding the old days like Renaissance or the old west, how would they have known they were smelling vs. clean if they had nothing to compare it to?

that's why flowers were for weddings to hide stink :D
(that's not true, but I got an email that said it, it turned out to be a hoax)
    I think it made sense!

sure..i am sure they were accustomed to the stench, but still a stench none the less. and knowing what we do know now, i would not willingly choose to go live in such time periods as the OP asks, that's all.

perfume was invented to mask the stink tho...the wigs for the lice...etc...so they were 'aware'...hahaha.
