If you could live in any time period...

what time period would it be?

I would have to say the old wild west. I would spend my days at the saloon drinking whisky playing cards. I'd take a break and go upstairs to see the whores, get into the odd gun fight.....it would be great!!

i've often pondered this myself, but the fact that there was no vaccines or aesthesia or modern plumbing really back in the day makes me happy i live in the here and now! there's tons of eras i'd love to visit for a short time, before contracting the plague or being burned at the stake or what not haha

You'd have to walk around with a visible bomb strapped to your chest with your thumb on the detonator and screaming, "Anybody tries to eat me and we all go up!"

I think you spelt it correctly. It should be with a capital, though. Oh, and you don't have to add the 'era'. It's like the Middle Ages, the word itself indicates a time period.

I'll let it slide this time, missy, but if I ever see such grave mistakes again, you're going to Siberia!

Haha. Every Wednesday I ride my bike past a passle of Renaissace nerds in the park wailing on each other with styrofoam weapons. I'm tempted to jump into the fray every time.

I would be a masterless Samurai in 16th century Japan and I would roam around being a mercenary, selling my unparalleled swordsmanship to the highest bidder.

Hard to pick anytime other than now considering life expectancy and all. Most of you saying like old west and ancient times would probably be dead from that cold you had when you were young, or that complicated pregnancy your mom had.

    Realism sucks I know.

    Longevity is overrated.

I'd take a day in another age over a year in this one.

OK Debbie Downer.. so much for a little daydream.

I would want to be Miss Holloway on "Mad Men." To be single in NYC in the early 60s, have a fabulous wardrobe and pay $35 a month for an apartment? Yes!
Plus I'd get to smoke everywhere & get drunk on my lunchbreak without getting in trouble.

The OP got me thinking the wild west would be a blast, but yeah, i wouldn't have been born ok and I would have died from all the colds I had in my preteens. Im healthy now though! How I would just love it, if someone did me wrong now, to just fucking shoot them in the back.

    I'm joking...........a little bit :D

The other thing about times gone by, especially the old west, is the smell!! People didn't acknowledge the wonderfulness of bathing! Also trash disposal was throwing it behind the building. I'm tasting my lunch coming back up just thinking about it...
