Best 3 decisions you have ever made

I couldn't sleep last night and was in a rather contemplative mood. I narrowed it down to these three;

1. Deciding to swallow my pride and be the one to actively persue my (now) fiance, a rather shy guy. Until then I had never asked anybody out before and never thought I would/should have to.

2. Spending all my birthday money on a discman and the No Code and Down on the Upside album when I was 12, thus beggining a lifelong love affair.

3. Investing my entire life's savings in Apple stock at $55 a share (now at about $175). I'm usually not a money driven person, but this move has given me opportunities that I would never have had otherwise. It's allowed me to buy a condo, funded quite a few concert-related road trips, and will pay for my wedding to aforementioned guy <3

What would be your 3?

One of my good decisions, not necessarily top 3 ever but still a good one, was to download John Martyn's Solid Air the other day. I am very much enjoying it. Over the Hill and May You Never are brilliant. It is abundantly obvious where you take most of your musical influence from.

    1. Coming to Manchester. It's really allowed me to come out of my shell in a way that was never socially acceptable in my hometown. It's let me be myself and let me follow my goals. If I didn't go to uni I would have been an introvert recluse with no friends, no doubt about it.

    2. Going travelling last year. Made me realise how easy it is to travel and it doesn't have to be really stressful.

    3. Finally getting the confidence to approach girls. before I always came from the perspective of thinking the girl could do better than me, which obviously got me nowhere. Okay, it took a few psychopaths to boost my confidence, but I now feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin.

General coming of age stuff I guess. I'm sure it's the same thing for everyone escaping teens, but oh well.

    1. Moving four hours away from home to go to uni, although it meant leaving all my family, almost all of my friends and a damn well paid job, where I could've been assisting manager at an age of 20 and probably manager next year.

    2. Not listening to my parents and my sister when they didn't want me to go to Berlin and Copenhagen to see PJ or Roskilde with just one friend who was also a girl when I was 18 (cuz girls get raped on trips outside Norway, and especially at Roskilde  ).
It wasn't really life changing, but I had some REALLY good times and met loads of people I learned a lot from because of this.

    1) Finding love

    2) I no longer have 50 pounds of pot buried out back in the woods under a log or in a water proof military ammunition box submerged underwater. This was my life for many years. (can you even grasp the bullshit that goes along with this kind of life?)

    3) Going to school.

The list goes on into the sunset............
Now would the OP start a thread on the Worst 3 decisions one has ever made?

    1.) Divorcing husband #1

2.) Adopting a dog and subsequently deciding never to have children

3.) Telling the truth. Sometimes, people don't like it. But, I'm more comfortable living truthfully.
Walking can be a real trip

1.) breaking an engagement to a guy who was (and probably still is) a great person. I know I'm much better off, and I believe and hope that he is, too.

2.) meeting a certain internet buddy about 5 years ago...who is now my husband (and still my best friend in the world! :D)

3.) becoming a mom to the coolest Guns N' Roses-loving baby ever. :D (Also, related to this...not getting a morning after pill...lol.)
