We will see what Hamels REALLY has tonight pitching under BIG pressure. Oh, by the way I saw Mitch Williams walking into the stadium last night. Some big fat guy started screaming " hey, mitch Joe Carter says Hello " . I lost it..

and seriously, no war is ever good. to think the opposite is just insane to me. no one wins a war, we all lose. that is painfully obvious on your TV screen every night

I've never said this war was good, but WW2 was totally necessary or I wouldn't be alive right now. I've told you my stories about the Japanese concentration camps and the Philippines.

And I've been in my share of fights ... just never thrown a punch. You'd be surprised when being a black belt in aikido comes in handy. Aikido by the way is a totally passive art and is never used for attacking unless your name is Steven Seagal. ;)

  • I want the next pitch to always be at his fucking head after he does his little stutter step around first base. You've had a good season this year Jimmy, but don't get cocky until you prove yourself over the long term. You know who else had a great season once? Brady Anderson. Yeah, Brady Anderson.

  • Yeah, I watch baseball. I've watched probably 100+ Cardinal games this year and quite a bit of games on ESPN, TBS, and WGN. I'm just saying Rollins got real cocky real quick and it makes me want to puke. You have to be able to put up these kind of numbers for consecutive years before you start showing pictures up.
  • It is not like Jimmy's numbers this year came from out of nowhere. He has had a very consistant last few years, getting progressively better for the most part. This year I think he is the MVP in the NL.

Holliday loses out for me because 25 of his 36 HRs were hit at Coors Field. Great year, no doubt and it is not his fault he plays at Coors, but the power numbers need to be more impressive on the road than they are.

Reyes was up there until September. He was having a great year, but his September has been terrible. Wright is closer to MVP than Reyes at this point.

Fielder, great year. The magic number of 50 makes him a part of the conversation. People LOVE to hear 50.

even though I don't particuarly like the Phillies, if (and when ;)) they make the playoffs, my vote is for Rollins. He's had one hell of a year...if the Rockies were in better shape, i'd vote Holliday...

love how 2 months ago all he Mets fan were saying how Reyes was better, now they want to throw him under a bus. If Philly fans booed like the Mets fans did yesterday they'd be getting ripped all over and blamed for the loss.

oh and where is that moron Boston fan who was on here about 2 months ago saying Coco Crisp was a better leadoff hitter.

Jimmy was fucking incredible this year. To play shortstop all 162 games, dominate the game both offensively and defensively and back up your words from spring training is just awesome.

Let's take it to the Series boys!

I'm still here and I agree Rollins should be MVP. His intangibles and leadership can't be qualified by mere stats. That said he should be batting 2nd. His OBP and even he says it is not as high as it should be.

Rollins splits as a leadoff hitter this year:
    .299 .347 .549

Crisp's splits as a leadoff hitter this year:
    .323 .370 .458

When, the National League average OBP is .346 Rollins' .347 as a leadoff hitter and .344 overall is not that impressive.

Dykstra's OBP before he got drunk and in that car accident were .418, .391, .375, .420, and .404. He would have scored more runs than Rollins if he would have batted leadoff for this team.

But I digress, Rollins had a wonderful season and scores a ton of runs because of the lineup behind him, but just remember this, this year is the first time Rollins finished in the top 10 (9th) in times on base. He's finished in the top 3 in outs hit into 6 of the last 7 years.

wow so the NL MVP is not even the best hitter in that lineup number. I guess Coco would be MVP of the NL. Insanity

Utley is the best hitter in the lineup and would have been MVP instead of Rollins this year if he didn't get hurt. When you consider than in almost 200 fewer at bats, he had 36 fewer hits and had more walks than Rollins.

I agree that Utley is the best hitter in the lineup. In fact I think only Pujuls is a better hitter in the league than Utley. Utley may make it 3 MVPs in a row for the Phils next year.

i just went to the pep rally at city hall. seemed like a million fans there. very cool that the whole team was there. a lot different than the eagles pep rallies where there are a few non-starters that show up.

i'm so excited. what a fun time in this city right now! :D

That's cool. I wanted to go, but one of the downfalls of my job is that I got a heavy workload during the 1st week of the month.

    Let's go Phils!!!
