I mean I saw the Celtics Thread so there' gotta be a Knicks Thread as well, right?!?!

I'm sure there are a couple of Knicks fans around here, there just have to be!!

I know the Celtics bulked up their roster with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen (but probably have the weakest bench in the league;-) and Orlando paired Dwight Howard with wingman Rashard Lewis. I just know this is the year the Knicks are gonna break out big time!!

Knicks center Randolph Morris was arrested early yesterday in Lexington, Ky., and charged with reckless driving.

Morris, who was released from jail on $100 bond, didn't appear in court for his arraignment. Attorney Chad Butcher entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. The judge set a preliminary hearing for Aug. 31.

According to the arrest report, Morris smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. He acknowledged he had been drinking 30 minutes earlier and was given a preliminary breath test at the scene, with his blood alcohol level showing .069, below Kentucky's legal limit of .08.

same old knicks? sorry bathgate but i have to respectfully disagree there. as bad as they've been in terms of the win-loss record recently, this is a rare brush with the law on this team. it's not fair to generalize because one player gets into a scrape with the law.

true the knicks have been relatively quite & unscathed by arrests--

aside from sexual abuse allegations from workers there .

Perhaps a more accurate use of words woiuld have been

    " same old NBA "

the worst part of this story for the knicks is that NO ONE has ever heard of "Morris"...lol

he starred for kentucky last year, and the knicks were able to sign him a few days after the NCAA tournament due to some sort of technicality. apparently he was considered to be an NBA free agent even though he was still playing at the NCAA level. i've read a whole bunch of articles about this, but i'm not even gonna pretend like i understand it completely.

but that's who he is. he's considered to be a long-term project with good potential.

honestly though, is reckless driving really even that big a deal?

its funny...this should be an NBA success story!!! NBA player blows .069, just below legal limit! :)

    because:

    1) his contract finally expired this summer and he wants more money.

    2) he might be able to provide the leadership that's been missing from the head coach and starting point guard.

    3) roger clemens was unavailable.

I was there. It was the ugliest night I've seen in the three-plus seasons of doing this, uglier than the night Howard Stern walked out in the third quarter on Opening night in 2004.

29 turnovers, 17 steals for the Warriors and many scowls on the face of Jim Dolan. When I saw Steve Mills return to his seat near Dolan in the third quarter for a second I thought he was coming back from drawing up the papers to fire Isiah.
