Good luck with that. It's pointless going anyway, coz Ireland are gonna win.
You don't get a point for kicking the ball over the crossbar in this kind of football, mate.

we have another dutchman managing us now
in 06 we had the immortal Guus Hiddink, now we have pim verbeek

Should've got Johan Neeskens instead after Guus left. Instead what do we do? Put a bum like Graham Arnold in charge

US well on their way in the semi final round sitting atop CONCACAF Group 1 with 3 victories in 3 games...two tough road wins at Guatemala and at Cuba backed up by this home victory

    damn those pesky Germans...
isn't it about time they failed to qualify for a tournament ? must get a bit boring always being there... ;)
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

I think the Germans have a really shoddy defence at the moment, they were very slack at the Euros yet still got to the final, it's almost like when Keegan used to manage Newcastle back in the mid 90's, shit defence but good attack.

  • Am I the only one here that struggles to get excited about internationals??! In comparison to club football, its just not the same...

But we are getting better. Under Trapatoni the team is showing far more promise than it has in years.
Although I see you're from Belfast and The Nordy's are as shite as ever :D

  • Wooohoooo!!! It's very rare that I get to celebrate a victory by my national football team. At last we won again (only the 2nd victory in the last 60 games!!) the Swiss totally underestimated us!! :D:D:D:D Strasser & Leweck propulsed those Hillbillies into oblivion ... yesssss!

See you guys for the next victory by Luxembourg ... euro qualifiers 2020.

....or German. How a team can be so awful and still get through to the semis or the final time after time beats me.

Mind you in 2002 they didn't play a good team until the final.... and got stuffed!
  • The germans are always lucky, even when it comes to the lottery of the qualifying groups for the world cup or euro. They always get the easiest group with just 1 good opponent: Russia this time. Even when it comes to the actual tournament, they are so lucky it defies any logic. At the euro the groups were set up in the way that the only strong team they could face before the finals were portugal. The other 6 favourites can battle it out on the other side of the board!! I wouldn't mind if they would play beautiful & attractive football like the Dutch or Spain or what the heck, half of the world! But they play the most awful defensive-minded ball the world has ever seen and get rewarded for it time and time again!! I hate those f#&%ing germanz and their unlimited luck!!!

Racism is awful but i think everyone's missing the big picture. I vote for a probe on why Emile Heskey was picked in the first place :)

well it was him or Defoe... and Defoe is shit.

Crouch is shit, Owen is half-fit... they just dont have that many good strikers these days.

Rooney isnt a striker as such anymore, more a hanging back kinda guy...

    who else is there?

Agbonlahor, Darren Bent, hell, even play Walcott up front. My England XI would be (when players are fully fit):

    GK:James
    LB:A.Cole
    RB:M.Richards
    CB:Ferdinand
    CB:Terry
    DM:Hargreaves
    LM:J.Cole
    RM:A.Young
    AM:Gerrard
    CF:Rooney
    ST:Walcott

Bench:Green, Lampard, Lescott, Owen, Barry, D.Bent, Beckham, Woodgate and Wright-Phillips

Rooney would play slightly behind Walcott. HUGE fan of Ashley Young. He's the type of player who likes to run at defenders, plus he's competent on either the right or left hand side of midfield which keeps the full backs on their toes.

    me... ?

    ...or maybe not... ;)

the thing about Heskey is that he gets touched by a defender and he falls over. which is useless in 'normal' football but when you get in Europe or international games the referees give you loads of free-kicks...! :D

unless you're Peter Crouch, in which case if you go near a ball you get penalised...

for an australian you know way too much about football... stick to barbecuing and being a criminal. ;)

ok.. Agbonlahor is a good choice in my opinion.. and I rate Bent quite highly also.. good picks :)

i actually get queasy if i look at Peter Crouch... he's just way too skinny... it makes me gag a little... he's like a human twiglet.

look at that photo.. if you have to actually spend time looking at photo to differentiate between arms and legs due to their same level of skinniness then that's just wrong.

Australia is playing Qatar next wednesday in Brisbane. My best mate has 2 guys he played reps with in the socceroos squad. Harry Kewell is out, but we should still smash them with Timmy Cahill and co.

Big game for Portugal this Saturday. We will be playing without two of our best players Deco and Carvalho. However, with Ronaldo back and except for our goalkeeper we have a strong team and we should be able to get a win.

an 89 year old blind paraplegic could have scored that.

It would have bounced right off the wheelchair into the goal :)

My friend wanked one like that once, except he was a foot closer to the goal and it went over the top
