I cant think what mine's is!! :(

many many years ago my friend was speaking to his gf on the phone and she said she loved Beef Pot Noodles.. so he hung up.. made a Pot Noodle and drove to her house.. placed it on the doorstep and then drove back home, rang her up and said there was a Pot Noodle on the doorstep...

we still ridicule him about it to this day... :):D they split up about 4 days later... dont know if the Pot Noodle had anything to do with it but i'd have been scared if i was her.

i must have done something romantic!!! :o
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

  • I drew a heart in the sand at Bournemouth last weekend and texted the picture to my gf.... which is OK in itself. What makes it romantic is that I'd spent about twenty minutes before-hand, trying to write 'I love you' but the sand kept falling into the gaps, so in the end I said fuck it... I'm gonna draw a heart.

That story is two parts romantic, to one part rage-filled. :D

Wrote a whole bunch of soppy prose and poems. :o

And that other business but I don't think that was romantic so much as really bloody stupid, but you live and learn I guess. :D

Let's see, the most romantic thing I've done is when I proposed to my wife. I told her that we were going to have a special night and celebrate her graduating from college, which happened a couple of weeks before but we had been too busy to celebrate properly. So, I cleaned up my apartment really nice, set out candles, and set out some pictures of us to make it a more intimate setting. I cooked her favorite meal, grilled chicken fettucine alfredo, and served champagne. After we got done with the meal, I started babbling on about how much I loved her and how much she meant to me. Then I got down on one knee, showed her the engagement ring, and asked her to marry me. Thankfully, she said yes! :D

I've also tried the poem thing, but was told that I'm no Shakespeare....lol

When I proposed to my wife, I took her to dinner then we went down to the beach. Well I had the ring in a decorated closed seashell. Kinda like a clam but pretty, not smelly or ugly, LOL.
It made a bulge in my pocket so I had to stash it in the front of my underwear. So here I am walking to the beach with a buldge in the front like I have a erection, I kept messing with it b/c it was not plesant having it down there. If I adjusted it, she would look at me like (WTF are you doing with yourself) LOL
It looked like I was constantly playing with it. I told her I was going over to pee, (night time mind you), thats when I took it out. (the ring)
So we went and sat on a lifeguard stand to look at the stars. I told her I wanted to get a shell for her scrap book. I came back with the shell open and the ring in it and proposed. Thank god she said yes.
    It was a good day.

Played about a five song acoustic set for my girlfriend when we first started dating about 3-4 months ago.

That was about as nervous as I've ever been doing anything.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

I actually have no idea what the most romantic thing I've ever done is.

I did write a mad ghey "you don't know how much you mean to me" letters last week, and I got my boy back - so that was kinda cool, but don't know if its romantic or not :o

it occurs to me that i've done a lot of romantic stuff :o i'm a hopeless romantic i guess. or pathetic. or both. i dunno...just a damned sap lol

one example i can share, for my love's 30th birthday, i got this nice box and put 30 slips of paper inside, each sealed with a kiss, each that had a reason i loved him written on it so he could pick thru it every day and read a new reason :)

i *love* doing romantic things, or even just gestures of love for those i care about. everybody should feel special as often as possible.
  • hmm... I don't know what the most romantic thing I've ever done was but this year on Valentine's day my boyfriend was poorly with a cold so I convinced him to come over anyway and as a present I created my "Fail safe, poorly 'ick cure all"...

some lemsips, lockets, balm tissues, hot water bottle, box of chocolates and a teddy bear...

meh, I thought it was kinda sweet :o

Actually, a couple of weeks ago he did something really ace for me.
I had some stuff stolen about a month ago including my bag. On my bag was a little badge of the Canadian flag. It was given to me by my biological Grandad the first time I met him when he flew over from Canada for Christmas 2006. I was gutted as this meant the world to me but I was resigned to the fact that it was gone. Dave came over to mine one day and said he had a present for me and produced an EXACT replica of the badge he'd searched for on ebay... I was so happy, it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for me and now everytime I look at it not only am I reminded of my Grandad and my Canadian roots but also of my very awesome boyfriend :D
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

My wife is a huge Beastie Boys fan and in 1998 (before we were married) I found out by chance that they were touring and she knew nothing about it...until the tickets dropped through the letter box! :D

We've seen them a few times since then but that was the first (and best actually...it was when they played in 'the round' on a revolving stage...good stuff!)

On New Years Eve 2000 I was at a party with a girl I worked with. She passed out so I carried her to her bed and covered her with her blanket and left. I liked her so much but knew at that moment that things wouldn't work out. Her heavy drinking was just too much. That and she told me she still had feelings for her old bf. I haven't talked or seen her in over 7 years. Hope she is doing ok.

I don't know if thats romantic but I made sure she got to bed ok. I would have done anything for her.
  • hmmmn...I have welcomed my BF home with a massage, and then i cooked his favorite dinner (he likes my Chile con Carne) as he watched (I dunno - he likes to watch) and then i fed him... (XXX)

oh, and i had already made homemade cake with a boiled sugar icing for dessert... (XXX)

I can't speak for myself at the moment...but I do have a doozie that my Ex did for me.

I had a ton of things on my plate, taking care of my Dad (full time), working (full time) and trying to renovate a house. I spent about 3.5 hours on the road every day, and although Matt tried, he never really understood all of the pressure I was feeling.

So last summer (I think) he took it upon himself to download a new PJ boot, stick it in my CD player and left a little note, something along the lines of I hope this will make your day brighter. This way I had some new tunes to rock out to as I made my way through town.

He did the same thing with a different show each day for about a week. EAch with a little note attached to my steering wheel.

Oh no! that really made me laugh! :D

I don't do romantic stuff. *bleaurch* (Excuse me).
  • I thought of another one!

I make fart sounds on his back to wake him up.

ahhhh now that is romance...I mean, I could just kick him. ;)

aw, those proposal stories are great :)
    I have a proposal story but I didn't get married :(

the most romantic thing someone did for me after that was after I moved back to NY and ended up leaving behind most of my cd collection (looong story)
a guy friend of mine took me cd shopping to replace some of them :) (it was a date at the time. We are friends now) :)
