Always used powdered sugar in em. Back when I was working a bar at a restaurant anyway.
simple syrup is the way to go dissolves in the cocktail much easier

Sounds like it. It's supposed to have sugar in it but it's not supposed to be really sweet. The mint should be main thing you're tasting in that drink (not in a overpowering way though). Speaking of which....that damn barcardi mojito commercial came on. I never had that much fun crushing up the mint.
mojito's aren't bad. i like the bacardi mojito's with pommegranate (sp?)
my favorite drink of all time though is a white russian. once, at a wedding reception, i was drinking a shit-ton of them and at one point the bartender asked me if i ever had a 'cocaine lady'. i said i never heard of it, what was it. he said it's like a white russian on steroids. so i ordered one. couldn't tell you everything that's in it, but i did see quite a few bottles being tipped into the glass, along with the vodka, kahluah (again, sp?), and cream. after shaking it up, he popped open a pepsi and poured just a bit of it into the drink. damn good drink. i've since asked bartenders when i'm out if they know how to make one and i keep getting the same puzzled look. bums me out, but i still have the white russians to rely on.

thanks guys. i've copied down all the recipes and will try them all at home sooner or later. i know i don't have all that booze at home, so i'll have to make a run or two to the liquor store.

Pina Colada is my favourite from the few I've tasted.
Mojitos aren't chick drinks.
Just those awful ones that are premade in a bottle.
I love mojitos.
That or gin and tonic.
I'm with you. I only discovered good Mojitos a few years ago since I usually don't like rum or rum drinks (too sweet usually), but with the mint I find I like it. Gin and tonic is my old fav, but also good homemade margaritas. Good tequila, a bit of Cointreau, and lots and lots of fresh lime.

i had a few pineapple mojitos on saturday...soooo delicious!!! i have literally drank them by the pitcher i love them so much it's the only cocktail that i enjoy...otherwise i'm all about the beer.
yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.
I also love key lime pie martinis....soooo good....I just can't figure out how to make them right Apple and pomegranate martinis will always be a favorite...and I just started drinking 3 olives grape vodka with 7-up - tastes just like a grape soda!

it was probably mascabado sugar, which is brown cane sugar. not the american "brown sugar."

I'm not a drink maker by any means so I just did what they told me. But I made a few drinks that were pretty damn good. What kind of syrup?
just boil equal parts water and sugar- makes a "simple syrup."
Sorry Dunk

the flavored ones are as with any fruit flavored "martini"
me, Im a scotch and beer guy.
And the occasional extra dry martini
but Im not responsible for my actions once I start drinking gin
Word of advice bro, don't admit mojitos are your favorite drink, especially here in America, and certainly don't admit that while wearing your kilt.
