you know what, as much as your age condescension annoys me, though irrationally because I know you aren't (or I hope you aren't  ) trying to be an arsehole, I actually agree with you for once :D

Thing is, I always think too much. It's just the way I am. I have been in enough of these shitty situations with friends to be wary now, however sad it is that a 19 year-old is already cynical and world-weary.
Maybe I'll just get drunk and fuck it all up and just won't care. THAT would be a turn up for the books :)

Sorry buddy, I didn't mean to be 'age condecending'. But the very fact that that thought came into your head kinda sums up what I meant :) Just go and have some fun, make some mistakes, stop thinking things through ....you get what I mean?:)
    take care.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

I didn't mean it in an accusing way, I don't blame you :p but yeah, you're right. I have made mistakes about this sort of thing before though... maybe it's time to learn from them? Maybe over-analysing isn't always a bad thing :D

becos people want what they can't have, and once they get it, they realize they want something else.
This is why I'm not interested. I like the girl enough as a friend that if the attraction grew, and it was anyone else, I might bypass my recent rule of not getting involved with friends. I know for a fact that this particular girl would lose interest though and it most certainly wouldn't be worth losing two friendships over.

Ever feel a situation coming on that you just can't see an easy way out of? :o

Question for the guys here. What would you do if one of your best friends, a girl, just told you that she can't get you out of her head and that she really likes being around you and she's all confused etc but the thing is, you have no intention of starting anything up with her because 1) you have gone down that road before with friends and it was a disaster, 2) she has a boyfriend and 3) her boyfriend is one of your friends?

I have NO intention of pursuing anything here but she's one of my best friends and I can pretty much guess why she feels this way and will feel bad about brushing it off, worst still about the fact that things will probably become awkward.

    i'd shag her
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

No, over-analysing is a bad thing. Sometimes, mistakes need to be made, in order to learn from them, or indeed to find out if they really are a mistake or not. Let's face it, if we weighed up the risk of every action against what was to be gained from it, chances are we'd hardly leave the house, we would certainly never cross the road. :)
