So we actually made it to a year  and I still love him :D . It was our anniversary on Saturday. I was in Norway with PJ friends so I spent it busking PJ songs in a park and at a Norwegian Oktoberfest getting drunk with friends and strangers. He spent it watching dvd's and getting drunk on his own :D awww bless. We only even managed to speak for about 10 minutes before my phone went dead.

Men don't care about 'anniversaries' unless they're marriage anniversaries anyway (and even then only about half the time ;))

:D strangely enough he does though. Money's not great at the mo but we're gonna celebrate properly somehow when some we're expecting comes through!

i spent my 15th wedding anniversary in a plane with 2 pj fans flying from london to dusseldorf for more pj gigs. i was gone the week before and the week after our anniversary, sleeping on fellow pj fans sofas, and hitting up 3 pj shows, all sans husband. the secret to a long and happy marriage. ;) truly, the actual *date* doesn't matter....just always be sure to *celebrate* and believe me, we sure did celebrate the milestone well before i left on my trip. :D

    Yeah we'd a great time celebrating your anniversary :D ... I suppose it's a pity he couldn't be there :p

It was kinda sweet how you kept trying to phone him even though you knew your phone wasn't working :) ... was I not meant to tell people that :o
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

the only thing i hope for on my anniversary is that we'll have a shag... nice meals and all that are great.. but really its the shag i'm hoping for all along.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Congrats, Helen!! I am really looking forward to our first wedding anniversary. We have just celebrated two years since our first date, and will be married a year in January. It's great to be truly happy in a relationship - first time in my life here.

Thank you :D I really wanted him to be there cos we met in Norway the same time last year. But it wasn't meant to happen and he insisted I go anyway! I'm still not sure how this happened... my longest relationship before this was 4 months... and we're nowhere NEAR done yet :D

Hahaha chime, I'm not sure if you were or not but fuck it! It definitely was a great way to celebrate! Thank you eMMI :)

Ah wow, first timer here too! If I'd known it was this easy I'd have done it years ago... and that's even providing for the fact that I had to lose my job and move country for it to work :D and it was still way too easy.

Well, glad you seem to be getting it right the first time...I'm not really a first timer, just first time in a good, strong, healthy relationship. Was married once before, and it was not good at all. He was very controlling, and I didn't even realize why I wasn't happy for the longest time. Anyway, none of that matters now...I have an amazing man who loves me and treats me better than I ever thought I could be treated. And I learned what not to do from the first one as well!! :D

Helen is all on lovey land... thats great and all.. but i find it funny she moved to England... a country that slaughtered thousands of her countrymen. :p

Eh how can a country slaughter people? :D It wasn't any of my english friends who did that! If I were friends with the queen, I couldn't say that... but I'm not!

Not true! The wife and I have 3 anniversaries. The marriage one (10 years), the first date one (happens to be the day after my birthday, so easy to remember and note I did not get my first b-day present from her until year later so got screwed) and the day of our engagement. We got engaged at a hotel, so we now have a hotel night where we spend a night in a hotel and enjoy the city. That is my favorite.

Do they? Well we don't really have a 'first date' one... since there were no real official dates. I met him at a PJ weekend in Norway so we pretty much spent the entire weekend together but with plenty of other people :D and then I came to visit him and he came to visit me and so on and so on! So yeh, we have the day we met... I suppose we could use the date I moved over too :D

awwww....we may not always officially celebrate em all, but we also keep track of those anniversaries. our first 'date' really wasn't a date per se.....we were at a party, left to go to the beach and then had dinner.......but sure, celebrate it b/c we shared our first kiss on that beach. sadly, that restuarant is no longer. our engagment also occurred at a resutaurant, which also sadly is no longer. damn, even where we had our wedding reception is no longer. amazing we're still together....;)

so yes, we just have to celebrate' where and how we see fit, and for those first date, engagement anniversaries, sometimes it's simply the acknowledgement of 'do you remember what happened today and when?'...and nothing more. as it's been over 21 years since that first kiss......i think it's all ok though. :D
