My guess is the same reason I wouldn't be able to bring him to the US - quarrantine issues. Different rules/regs in each country for bringing animals in. But I'd bring him here to meet my girls if I could!!!!believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Quarantine is only temporary though right? My understanding (which is oh so limited) is that it varies from country to country. Some countries only require paperwork from a vet, while others may require some quarantine time.
All I know is I would never leave my pets behind and I sure wouldn't take them to a shelter or put them to sleep because I wanted to move. I just wouldn't move, or I would take the time and money to get them relocated. That being said, I have no idea of the circumstances of these people so I am not judging. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

I don't know all the rules/regs either. I know friends of mine were considering moving overseas for work. She had to consider shipping her horse and her dog, both had to be quarrantined for a period of time if they did move them.
My fingers are crossed Helen! Keep us posted!believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Just letting you all know that Wolfie found a home on Tuesday
a few people had come to look at him and he just barked at them  but then this couple with 5 kids came... he didn't bark at all... just lay with his head between his feet looking up at them... then was licking the kids. When they put the cage in the boot of the car, he just jumped right in and he hates travelling cos he gets so sick
I'm sad I didn't get to see him before he went but am sooooo relieved and happy that he's gone to a good home. My sister has their address, number and email address so she'll be able to check up on him every now and then

that's pretty much how it went. I'm not a bit surprised. Seems all the dogs actually found BETTER homes now! The king charles cavalier went to my dad and his girlfriend and is being brought for walks on the beach every day now... the German shephard is now working as a guard dog... which is what he does best. He wasn't the BEST family dog and seemed to just guard the whole time... now he's doing that. And Wolfie's got plenty of kids to give him lots of attention
