Am I the only person who likes the bad guy in no country for old men?

I figured out what it is... he's simple! There's no game playing... he does what he does and that's it.. he also sticks to his word. Why can't all men be so bloody simple... without all the killing thoughthere's no complications, no lies, no bullshit! Yep, that's it, that's what I like about him
I never realised such a simple character could be so complex to figure outThe Astoria??? Orgazmic!

Heineken Helen wrote:catch22 has a great point about how he's A-moral
he has his morals... we just don't agree with them... but damn if he isn't a man to stick to his morals. Even though he'd promised Brolin's character he'd SPOILER kill his wife.. he still gave her a chance... to leave it up to chance. A couple of times during the film, the words 'you can't stop what's coming' were said... and I like that. Cos, good or bad, you can't stop it!
Petrocs, I agree about the final scene... thought it should/could have ended with the scene before that... but it didn't annoy me. It's definitely a film I'm going to have to watch again... and probably again!
D2D gets me
Yeah he is an evil guy in the sense of how he ruthlessly kills people... but you are right about the morals. In the book, once he gets the money, he gives it to the people who hired him to get it. He doesn't take it for himself and run off... he gives every last dollar back. He's just doing his job.Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.0 -

i don't think he's *difficult* to figure out....i think he's just sooo different from people that we simply cannot fathom behaving as such. leaving killing up to the flip of a coin, to chance, etc....although isn't life, and death, really like that......? that's really what he's all about to me. most definitely amoral, although he most certainly at one time anyway, made the choice to get into his line of work....but otherwise.....just follows along. and most truly simply things are the work of very complicated minds.beauty in simplicity.

see... good guy!
In fairness, it wasn't Josh Brolin's to get away with... look at what he did in the beginning. Wouldn't give the guy water! He coulda saved him then and there.
And to the person who didn't like Woody in it  I thought he was great but then I tend to think he's great in everything. I love when he told the guy there was a floor missing in the building and yer man goes 'we'll look into it'The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

Oscar liked him"Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)
