Hmmm... if you're going for alphabetical order there you've got Scotland in the wrong place

France won't give a fuck cos it's not world cup year. England aren't as good as results last year made it seem. Ireland, Munster showed last week that the players still have it... and O'Gara seems to be in decent form... Leinster, well we won't get into that :(

I can see Wales doing well this year... sure why not?

i do think Scotland will have more teeth this year but it'll still leave em lagging behind the superior might of the rosbifs and the frogs. The Irish always do well when i predict they'll be shit and vice versa for the English so you may well have your league still Helen. I seem to remember my last prediction being so far off the mark it didn't get past the ockey.

I can't remember my last prediction other than predicting Ireland to win :( but I do that every year anyway. I think I gave pretty much the same reasons last year but here goes: This will be the last chance for one or two players to prove their worth (yep, they're still around from last year) and they really have a LOT to fucking prove... and there's gonna be fuck all pressure on us this year. Would be fab to win the grand slam in Twickenham thugh although the way things have gone in recent years it'd be ironic for them to rob it from us in the last second.

Hanging on in quite desperation is the English way!
We do like to rob things in the dying seconds, it adds exciement to an otherwise boring affair, Its always boring watching the English when they are the favourates, unless of course yer Irish, Scottish or Welsh!

Yeah, really looking forward to it. Should be interesting.

England on a high after a good World Cup. France & Ireland with something to prove after a pretty poor World Cup. Scotland seem to be going in the right direction at last. Italy always improving year upon year.

As a Welshman though, I'm more interested in how Warren Gatland is gonna get the Welsh team going again after an abysmal 2007!
Ospreys & Blues doing well in the Heineken Cup. Henson & Ryan Jones back fully fit. Youngsters Tom James, Jaime Roberts, Ian Evans & Alun Wyn Jones progressing well.

All depends on the opening game though, in my opinion. Get a decent result & confidence will grow. A big defeat could see us down the bottom of the table come the end of March!

NZ for all their talent seem to have a mental block at World Cups.
Man-for-man, they were by far the best side at the WC, but failed once more.

Slightly worrying for me as a Welshman, we've just employed a New Zealander as Head Coach !!

Haha that is the funniest thing I have ever heard. "the gap doesn't exist" hahahah of corse it does silly We have just employed a kiwi as our coach. We are looking forward, and some bloke i went to school with will be in with a strong chance of a recall providing he has a good year with qld reds.

THings are just going to go up and up for the aussies.

Ps the poms are a boring team to watch.

So the gap exists, eh? maybe between NZ and the north... but between Oz and the north? Results strongly say otherwise

It is a different ball game when Aus tour up there and you lot tour down here. Aus wins at home. Euros win up there. Happens all the time

Do the years 1991 and 1999 mean anything to you? not to mention sadly a finalist in 2003, but 2nd is better then 3rd. Australia is the best country in the world. They are good at all sports. We just need to find another good tennis player and that is all we need.

But if Australia was in the 6 nations, they would win. Scrum is a little week, but with the likes of matt giteau and Berrick barnes, who needs muscle whren you have this much skill in your halves?

BTW I prefer Rugby League. Not that big a fan of Rugby. But support Australia all the way.

I agree it SHOULD be 7 nations... Argentina are MORE than welcome actually we'd be lucky to have them.

Not big on the rugby myself, but it's Ireland V Wales Saturday March 8th, 1.15pm...I'll be in London, and if I have nothing else to do I may just watch it.
