Noises that give you the creeps!

I work beside a dockland... and today is a bit foggy so one of the boats just let off the fog horn... and it gave me chills right down my spine :o . This happens quite often and every time it just gives me the creeps :o . Is there any noise creepier?

Verona??? it's all surmountable

    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    Fog is far and away my favorite type of weather. The denser the better. I was high up in the mountains one time and a dense fog rolled in at the same time a heavy snowfall started. I could barely see the pine trees all around me. It was one of the most serene moments I had ever felt and THEN! A herd of elk materialize out of the fog like twenty feet away breathing giant clouds of steam in the cold mountain air. In silent, slow motion they crossed the path in front of me and vanished back into the fog like a dream.

    I could have died a happy man right then and there.

    :) why doesn't shit like that happen to me? Sounds fantastic! Instead I just get creepy foghorns :mad:

    I'll see if I can convince a herd of elk to swim across the pond for you... Oh, and to keep with the sound topic. Bugling elk are very cool, but nothing compares to the sound of wolves howling less than 5o feet from your tent. Spine tingling...

    :D ok ok you win, lol... I'd imagine wolves howling next to your tent is DEFINITELY way creepier than a fog horn, lol. I just don't know what it is though, I just freeze every time I hear it and feel the need to look behind me, even though it's just a wall :D
