Not going to her wedding.

I told her (this was my best friend of a number of a years) that I was pretty much done with her (she did some pretty fucked up shit that best friends should just not even consider doing). That was two years ago, roughly. Since that first time, she'd call and wanna talk it out. I'd give in. A few months later I'd get fed up.

When she got knocked up and set a wedding date, I told her I couldn't go and she said something to the effect "I just don't think I can ever speak to you again." I only knew about the wedding perhaps a month, if that long, before, and it was around the time I was trying to find a place to live in an entirely different city.

Anyway. She finally got the damn hint.

There's not much you can do about it really , just try to let it affect you as little as possible. The other person will eventually let it go

or you can push him down the stairs.

seriously I hate to say it but I'd imagine my reaction on that day will be relief much more than anything.

I'm sorry you're dealing with whatever is going on. It sounds shitty. If someone is that consumed with your life and trying to bring chaos to it they must be pretty empty inside. Being consumed by someone else's life is one way people try to distract themselves from their own emptiness. They're already living their own torture. Eventually they'll find another distraction and move on.

thanks... but I think this is pretty much all this person has to live for.... so I'm not banking on 'moving on' anytime soon. I know they're not happy but there's no need to drag everyone down with them. There's only one way for this to finally be over with and it's probably a long way away

I experienced something like this once...someone creating chaos...starting rumors etc. It felt really shitty at the time cause I just couldn't understand why someone would want to do that. I still haven't figured that part out...but I did what it sounds like you're doing...ignored it...and all the hard work this person put into creating chaos wound up having absolutely no effect on my life at all...except I found out who my real friends are and I learned a lot about people based on how they reacted to it. Cliche but true.

well like I said it really doesn't get to me... the only thing that gets to me is that it upsets other people around me cos it's not just me and I certainly don't get the worst of the rumours and the lies :(

Only a few people know the full story and I don't mind talking about it but generally need a few drinks... so that usually results in a sobfest when it DOES come out :rolleyes: and nobody I've told have blamed or judged me cos I only tell people who really know me anyway... although I'm sure MANY people know the OTHER side of the story :(

Yeah...the people who know and care about you will support you. It just sucks that someone would want to focus energy on disrupting someone else's life.

Sounds like a good idea on the surface, erasing someone from your life, however, we would soon run out of mistakes from which to learn.
