    actually, many/most European countries have their own Idol or other similar show. :eek: in addition to the Eurovision.

    but it's not the same anyway.. Eurovision is ages old and.. well, really crap musically. :p

    My personal non-sport related tv highlight is always the election night coverage for Aussie and American elections. Put that aside, and the voting segment in Eurovision is just the most glorious celebration of democracy in practice.
