99x here in Atlanta plays a lot of PJ. The hits of course but they play Crazy Mary and even Glorified G. They play the newer stuff when it first comes out and I've heard Hard Sun a couple of times. Actually I hear a PJ song about every 2 hours or so during the day.
i just heard Nothingman on a local station sunday....very weird considering this station usually only plays Ten and Vs.
I live in Harrisburg, PA and it's the same here. I think the latest PJ they've played here in quite some time has been off Vitalogy. The have beat Ten into the ground. . . almost like they don't know PJ has 7 other studio albums
They always seem to be fairly kind to Pearl Jam...maybe not as much as WMMR, but nevertheless.
PBM
"We paced ourselves and we didn't rush through it and we tried to be as creative as our collective minds would let us be over some course of time instead of just trying to rush through a record"
They're gonna play forgotten 90s classics. I'm gonna request, State of Love and Trust, Last Exit, I Got Id, and WMA. If they don't play one of those I'll be super pissed.
So far just one PJ song, compared to 2 Weezer songs, 3 Nirvana, 2 Offspring songs! The PJ song was JEREMY! EVEN the BAND doesn't like that song anymore. Fucking ridiculous.

I have no problem with Jeremy...but there is so many other songs they should and could have played.

All I have in my area is classic rock, country and pop stations. I hate country music, and todays pop music is absolutely shitty, so much so that you couldnt pay me a million dollars to listen to "The Party" for a day to see if they play a PJ song. And the classic rock stations don't really play anything after 1990 anymore...so...never.

I guess Aaron Axelson played Far Behind, Guaranteed, and Hard Sun on Live 105's Soundcheck like 3 weeks ago. This was after I requested via email they play Far Behind on Soundcheck and he said the soundtrack screamed KFOG to him. When I found out they played those songs and now have Hard Sun at #17 on their playlist, I emailed him yesterday:
"Aaron,

hey Gavin,
yeah, i spun it one night on soundcheck, spent a week with the soundtrack in my car and then summer ended and i felt it would be a PERFECT Fall record for live 105..... and now we're playing it over 25x a week!

the new station to hit philly this month Radio 104.5, its a new alternative, has been playing pj, mainly hits , but its all good, they played Yellow ledbetter today, that was cool

Don't complain about your radio station in the US.
Here in France they only play crap ... not much rock or on some rare radio station late at night ... so I usually don't listen radio. And the last time I heard Pearl Jam on the radio here was ... ummm ... maybe during last century
I come once a year in california (SF bay area) for my job and when I'm there I always listen to 105.3 or 104.9. You can hear some oldies from Ten, Vs and Vitalogy.
I will always remember the first time I came to California. I went to pick up my rental car, turned on the radio ... and heard Alive. I was like "Holy Shit, I'm going to enjoy my stay here !!!

So everytime Live 105 has been doing a 90s weekend I've been trying to get them to play a song from Yield. I talked to Pete Mar multiple times. He plays songs from Vs. and Vitalogy, and seems to be a PJ fan. He brushed me off a couple times, saying they didn't have Yield in the studio. When he committed to playing Given to Fly he never did. The only dj from Live 105 I can get to play anything other than 10, Vs, or Vitalogy, is Madden. He played Given to Fly for me in May 2007 during 90s at Noon.
Madden came through again today when I called and said I'd like to hear something from Pearl Jam's Yield. I told him it was my birthday (Feb 22) and he told me to prove it. I said George Washington, Julius Earving, and Drew Barrymore were born today, and he said that would suffice as proof. I then said another reason he should play a Yield song is that the 10 year anniversary of Yield's release was a couple weeks ago and he cut me off saying, "And it's just an awsome album." We agreed that Yield didn't get its due in 1998 and that were it released today, it would blow up. I think PJ were ahead of their time with No Code and Yield. Alt radio was shallow and poppy in 1998, with rap metal and candy-punk dominating the airwaves. Yield had a couple successful singles in Given to Fly and Wishlist and In Hiding, but it was forgotten by the public. I also think Yield has been the last truly CLASSIC album done by PJ. It took me a couple years to fall in love with Binaural, and to I enjoy Riot Act and S/T, but Yield hit me like a lightning bolt. That was PJ at their underrated peak. Happy Birthday YIELD!!!
Speaking of Yield...i believe i read somewhere that PJ first played some of the Yield songs at some secret show in Santa Cruz. Wonder if Ed will stop back in their for nostalgia
So there is a rather new rock station here in town, and with in the past few weeks I have heard them play Alive, Even Flow, Black, Daughter, Small Town, Glorified G, Better Man, Corduroy, Nothingman, Last Kiss, Hard Sun and just today, Once. I havent heard Glorified G or Nothingman on the radio in a long time, and I dont think I have ever heard Once. I still wish they would play songs post 1994, but at least they give a varitey on the old stuff, unlike another station which plays pretty much exclusively Even Flow, Alive and Jeremy.
Also last week I heard another station play In Hiding which was pretty sweet I must admit, but they used to play that song a lot back when Yield came out.
words seem so out of place.

FM 94.9 in San Diego plays quite a bit of PJ. They broadcast the second Irvine show in '03, and they played Corduroy from it just a few days ago. Probably the rarest track I've heard them play was I Got Id, but they tend to go all over the catalog. They have a web feed, you can get it here:
If you go to the Audio/Video section of the site, there is a interview with Stone about halfway down the page, and the bottom interview on the page is Robert Plant, and well worth a listen.
I heard In My Tree on 94.9 a couple times. I was amazed.
They have a promo they play sometimes about Pearl Jam and how most stations play 3 popular PJ songs but they play 26 different ones or something like that. Whenever I hear that promo I think ... this is my kind of station.

You goin to Santa Cruz or Berkeley?
"Had my eyes peeled both wide open, and I got a glimpse...of my innocense, got back my inner sence, baby got it...still got it"
Daughter, Even Flow, Alive, Black, Jeremy, I Got Id, Corduroy, Better Man....That is it. Half those songs aren't even singles. Weird that some of PJ's most well known songs are not singles, don't you think?
Is that San Diego? I gotta listen to them online. Any station rotating 26 PJ tracks, including In My Tree, is bad ass.
Yes, 94.9 San Diego. I wouldn't say In My Tree is in regular rotation... but I was impressed to have heard it at all. They play a fair amount of the more popular songs, but they definitely mix it up a bit too. I'd also say they pretty consistently play something by PJ every hour or two.
I get DC 101 here in northern VA. They play the usual Jeremy, E Flow, Alive, Daughter, Dissident, Corduroy, Betterman and Yellow Ledbetter. WWS got some air back when Avacado arrived but it isnt played much anymore. One of the DJs, Roache, is a HUGE PJ fanatic and Ive heard him play some rarities like Live versions of Given to Fly and Animal. I dont get to listen to his segments as much as Id like though.
Another station in the area is 94.7 the Globe which plays all kinds of shit. I was surfing through in the early morning three weeks ago or so and I was stunned to hear them playing Glorified G.
Ive never heard any No Code, Riot Act, or Binaural around here though. It's really a shame.
down in the ny/nj area Krock has been playing quite alot of pearl jam lately, thanks to their new system of the listeners being the DJ's. some of the more rare PJ songs that have been played lately are hail hail, DTE, given to fly, i got id, SOLAT, tremor christ (i believe) and maybe one or two others. not to mention the normal dosage of ten and vs.
Coincidentally, i sent in my second playlist to k rock (my first one got aired with breath and given to fly in the playlist) the DJ said "this is john from north jersey, hes a giant pearl jam fan and will be starting and ending his playlist with pearl jam. heres breath" i was so happy to hear that......
THEN last night, i got a call this time from K rock and they recorded me. they asked me if i play any instruments and what my favorite band is. i told them pearl jam because they're a REAL rock band.
so ANYONE in the ny/nj area tune into Krock monday night around 9:00-9:15 PM. my playlist and my voice will be on the air.
oh and the PJ song in my playlist will either be save you, i got id, or wash. depends which one they choose.
sorry to hijack your thread, im pretty happy about this.
You aren't hyjacking at all, this thread is all about people's local radio stations and how they react to us PJ fans lobbying them to handle the PJ catalogue properly. Most stations don't play much beyond the early hits. If they were smart, they'd take advantage of the deeper cuts.
was driving home at 12:30 am and heard I've Got Shit on Live 105 in San Francisco. i've been trying to get Live 105 to play non-10/Vs PJ songs for years. Matt McCourt was the DJ. he says he loves PJ and is always looking for deeper PJ tracks to play. he works the early morning hours at Live 105, so i'm definitely going to take advantage in the future. it was soooo good to hear that song on the radio. that's the first time i've heard it on Live 105 since 1995-96.
In Columbia, SC the local rock station is Rock 93.5, but I haven't really listened to that station for a few years now. When I did listen, they would play Pearl Jam every now and then, but it was usually only the bigger hits: Even Flow, Alive, Jeremy, Black, Daughter, Elderly Woman, and Better Man. They'd play a PJ song every few hours, but nothing was in constant rotation.
Central Georgia does not have an "Alternative" Station. We barely have a rock station.
Q106 plays at least one ABB, LZ & Skynard song each hour....oh yeah...and ZZTop. If I get lucky, I might hear Alive, Daughter or Betterman once a week.
We have about 3 different Country Stations and about 7 Hip-Hip Stations to choose from.
It's basically ESPN Radio & CD's for me.
Email exchange w/Live 105 DJ who I sent an email to posting links for some of PJ's performances on their awsome eastcoast mini-tour. I was bragging about setlists, etc. I only email Live 105 DJs to try to get them to play Pearl Jam songs that haven't been played to death. They mostly play Yellow Ledbetter, songs from Ten, and a couple from Vs occassionally. I don't get it because there are a number of DJs there who love Pearl Jam. I think they operate strictly by the numbers these days. I was surprised by Madden's response. Now PLAY MORE RARITIES AND DEEPER PJ tracks!!!!
"Thanks, Brian. I was at the Bonnaroo show over the weekend. It was
amazing! They are playing with an energy and a vitality that is unlike

Release. You can't beat it!
Indie 103.1 in LA looooooves Pearl Jam. They played Do the Evolution this afternoon and play DEEEEEP PJ cuts consistently.
I am from San Francisco originally. They suck when it comes to playing PJ and suck in general these days except Soundcheck on Sunday nights. Their program director got pissed when the morning show played Not For You a month ago, arguing "that song doesn't research". That basically means they only play predetermined setlists that cater to advertisers. Corporate radio at its absolute worst. If there are any Live 105 DJs on here, please stand up to defend your once awsome station.
