So, eighth season? they cant end the series like THAT!

I'm pretty sure it's moving to ABC. ABC just can't announce the deal until NBC ran its last episode.

I like ABC. But if the ratings are the same as on NBC they will cancel it before the 2nd new episode of the season.

Well the thing is, the strike may actually help Scrubs. Because of the strike, not many new pilots were made and since ABC already makes Scrubs and it has an established audience, it was a decision by the Network to pick up the show instead of making a new sitcom to fail disastrously i.e. Cavemen.

Yea but they can easily replace with reality shows. And there might be an actor's strike.

After what happened with the writers and how quickly the directors came to negotiations, I doubt there is an actors strike. I mean even the most vapid actor/actress will realize no one will have sympathy if Tom Cruise is on strike.

Plus Scrubs gets better ratings than Life According to Jim and for some reason aBC has kept that on the air for 7 years.

I like According To Jim. It's charmingly rubbish. :)

So is Zach Braff done....it had been announced before the start of the season that this would be his last year on the show....leaving speculation that this was the end.

That final episode was weak, worst one ever possibly.

    Dear friends,

Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.

Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD.

Hope this clears some things up.

    peace and love,

Thanks for this. Its good to know the show will be back. Hopefully though they find some way to include Kelso in most episodes. He was probably the funniest character on the show.

Yeah, thats good news. Although, he stated that the final episode will air in the fall, so it should be a shortened season.

I think season 7 is only 18 episodes total, shorter than the usual 24. I thought I heard season 8 may be 18 only, but I'm hoping for the full 24...and maybe a 9th season, lol

Yea, its been said a bunch of times that 8 will be the last and only 18 episodes. Definitely better than nothing. Also, if you look at ABC's new schedule for next fall, Scrubs is on there as starting "mid-season" or something like that. I forget what exactly, I saw it this morning, but it definitely fit with an 18 episode season as opposed to a full 24 episodes.
