  • It sucks, yeah. I went through that in November and the best thing you can do is surround yourself with friends and try to have fun, even if you have to force yourself.

  • Thanks for the support. I haven't been on the board in a while. We only went out for a few months. Since the end of september. It's for the best I think. Last week was her birthday, I took her out for dinner, stayed in a hotel over night, we went on a sleigh ride and I even bought her ice skates. I spent almost $400. Then we go out for her birthday dinner with her friends and the bill for the tow of us came and she asked me what we should do and I suggested splitting it. I already spent $400 on your stinnking ass last week and now Im broke because of it. Then we go out with her friends to the local pub and her friends are being all lame and not very social which in turn made me that way and not fun to be around. So we get home the next day and she lays into me about how embarssed she was to hacve to pay for her own dinner for her birthday and how she expected me to have had a better attitude while we were out. Shit what was I supposed to do? I apologize up and down. I go to work that night and start asking my friends their opinion on whether or not I was obligated to pay and everyperson I asked said no. What do you guys think. Now last night she says this isnt working out. WTF. I dont want to be with a petty bitch like that anyway. F' Her. I'm going to a 70's costume party tonight and I am going to get funky :)

Keep your chin up and your confidence high.

This too shall pass. It initially sucks big time, then comes the anger as you start to realize how much wasted emotion investment etc you've put in on it all... Eventually you'll get past it and find someone new. Most of the time there isn't anything that is wrong with you it's just that a lot of times peoples paths in life change and they feel the need to move on. It's important not to dwell on it. Know in your heart you are a good person, start doing things that make you happy and things will come a lot easier for you soon.

Cheers. Hope you feel better soon... you're better off already.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

Bad move, brother... I know you'd already dropped $400 for her birthday, but making her pay for her dinner on her birthday IN FRONT OF HER FRIENDS is an amateur hour move. If it was just the two of you alone at dinner, you probably get away with it. She's probably upset that you looked like a cheap ass and she looked like someone who was dating a cheap ass in front of her friends.

Sucks to hear... I know what it's like getting dumped... but let this be a lesson learned.

Well I think that the dude is expected to pay on her birthday-especially in front of her friends-reaching for the purse on her birthday? No wonder she got turned off-because that is kinda tacky.

That being said, it shouldnt be a deal breaker and if that was enough for her to break up, then she is shallow and you have just been spared months, maybe even years of misery.

Now go out and get some strange so I can live vicariously.

And dont listen to Mookie, go with the Huggy Bear outfit.

even if it were a cheap move it's not something to dump someone over. I don't think that's the only reason.

Oh, I completely agree... it certainly doesn't help matters. Tacky move to be sure, though.

  • Hotel: $129.00

    Dinner $95.00

    Skates: $75.00

Getting dumped by a good for nothing piece of trailer park trash: priceless

Fuck her dude, you don't need it. If she's going to give you shit about spliting the bill on her 2nd birthday dinner after you took her out for a great night FOR HER BIRTHDAY, fuck her. You went out with her friends for that dinner why couldn't they chip in to buy her the meal. What's up with that?

Sounds to me she's selfish and spoiled and you're better off without her.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
