Best NHL Goalie Today

Who do you think is the best NHL goalie of present time??

Since I am a Rangers fan I will be bias and say Lundquivst since I have seen him play the most out of every goalie. His stats at the beginning of the year were under 2.00 GAA and he has 10 shutouts this year which is a NYR record. Some of the saves he makes are incredible.

Even though I am a Rangers fan and i HATE Brodeur, he's still absolutely amazing. The beginning of this year he was awful, but then he got his game on and he's not washed up anymore.

Hasek and Osgood team up pretty damn well this year but both are old, I don't know if they will be ready for the post season.

Other mentions:
Luongo (VAN)
Backstrom (MIN)
Turco (DAL)

PS: If anyone remembers Blackburn on the Rangers about 4 years ago....man he would have been something huh?

Is Tim Thomas any good? I saw a highlight where he gave up three goals to Ovechekin? But A.O. is like the new Michael Jordan of hockey now.

    Brodeur ! By far!

Brodeur-for now. He plays with the smallest pads in the league which are bonus marks.

Luongo - an not just because I live in Vancouver will be the next legendary goalie.

It's pretty hard to argue against Brodeur at this point. Just an astonishing career.

Honorable mention to Luongo and Lundqvist.

Brodeur, no contest. if he played for the rangers, there'd be a statue of him outside of the garden.

and whoever even mentioned Lundqvist doesnt know their ass from a hockey puck. he's good, but not even in the top ten.

As for Hasek and Osgood, both have won Stanley Cups and continue to play well this year. In addition, they have one of the leagues best defensive cores. The Wings have the lowest goals against in the league for more reasons than just their goaltenders.

Danny Blackburn was damn good. It was a shoulder injury that forced him into early retirement was it not?

Brodeur's career body of work gives him the obvious edge. He's probably the greatest ever. Right now, though, I don't think there is much difference between him and say Lundqvist or Luongo.

Not in the same category, but we are very happy down here with our Conn Smythe winning goalie Cam Ward.

Brodeur is easily the better of the two, Roy was a hot head and wife beater and cocky as shit, i know my last memory of Roy was him hot dogging against Minnesota in his last playoff series and costing his team the series in Game 7, or when he refused to play in the Bronze medal game in Nagano 98... because he was too good to not be playing in the gold medal game, Fuck Patrick Roy.

Brodeur has put up almost equal numbers in less seasons and won only one less cup plus the guy isnt a complete joke off the ice.

Brodeur is the best goalie to ever play the game, hands down. Anyone who argues that is smoking crack.

I'm going with Roy over Brodeur. Though Roy has played on many great teams, Brodeur has played on very, very defensive teams which has made his job a bit easier. The Avs and the Habs never trapped like the Devils have/do. Also, he plays in the east which is piss poor compared with the west.
  • i see Brodour on here, hes by far the best but you have to mention Olaf Kolzig, he may be old now but for years hes kept the Capitols in games its just that the teams that have been in front of him sucked....................................oh yeah and im from Buffalo so i have to mention Hasek when he was with us"goalie pads $600 bucks, glove and blocker $450 bucks and having a slinky for a spine.......PRICELESS, remember that commercial

I'll be in the neighborhood later on, and I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get some frozen yogurt, or perhaps a whole meal of food, if that would be agreeable. Damnit.

That argument doesnt fly with me, Brodeur has been Hart Trophy worthy the last 3 seasons without Neids/stevens and danekyo and 2 new coaches systems, hes also won the last 2 vezinas and should win again this year without the trap system in place.
