I'm sitting here in my dorm waiting for my roommate to get out of the shower so I can go to class. It's 12:45pm, he went in at 12:10. He said he would be quick, and this is quick for him if he gets back within 5 minutes. But there are so many people who take FOREVER, like my uncle for example.

Notice I'm using guys as examples...

Now lets get on with you ladies. I understand that majority of the time is putting make up on and getting your hair ready, blah blah blah. But still, you take a pretty damn long time in the shower! I was in this girl's apartment that I'm kind of involved with, and she was going to take a shower cause she just got back from the gym. I fell asleep waiting for her! Slept for 40 minutes, and she was still not out.

I get in the shower, wash my hair out with shampoo. Put conditioner in and then wash my body, and wash out the conditioner. Dry myself....done in 10-15 minutes.

He was probably playing a little 5 on 1 if you know what I mean.

I agree though, I am in and out of the shower in no time. My wife gets up for work at 5:45 every morning to leave the house by 7:30. That includes, shower, getting dressed, makeup, make lunch and breakfast. I leave the house at about 7:20 and I wake up at 7. And that includes shower, walk the dog, get dressed, and make lunch. Now I don't shave every day but the days I do I wake up at 6:57.

It takes me 10-15 minutes just to wash my hair! Plus, many women shave many parts of their bodies, which can be time-consuming. And the woman you're "kind of involved with" probably took so long doing things to look/smell/feel nice for YOU.

As for your friend, he's probably doing something else...

I take about 5 minute showers in the morning. If I am shaving my legs it takes about 10. I like the water steaming hot as well.

Fortunately, I have my own bathroom, but I when I didn't, it could be a bit annoying when other people would take so long in the shower.

I'm always take "long" showers. I have long hair and washing it and putting conditioner in and washing it out take pretty long. But I never shower longer than 20 minutes, though.

And fuck hot water, I just jump in the shower right away cold or not. Nothing better to start you day :D

I am not complaining one bit and trust me, I do appreciate the work my wife puts into keeping herself....well, you get the idea. Hell, at that time in the morning I am sleeping anyway. I just laugh when I hear her go into the bathroom so early and then 45 minutes later I hear her come out.

well for the girls, it's the shaving that takes so long. if you don't have to shave you can be in and out fairly quickly. the only other thing I could think of that would make a girl longer in the shower is that we have to condition our hair as well as shampoo it. but that only takes like an extra minute. of course, I've never had the patience to wait the full three minutes it says to on the bottle. I also don't really think it's a girl/guy thing. growing up both my mom and I were way faster in the shower than either my dad or my brother (yes, these were the days when whole families had one bathroom!)

which is why I almost never shave anymore- my shower at home does not provide enough warm water to wash, wash hair, and shave. it doesn't even come close to being enough for shaving alone. If I wash my hair incredibly fast, I have time to wash the rest of me. I've got about 4-5 minutes tops in that shower. If you want to cut down on showering time, move to house built in 1900 with pretty much the original bathroom fixture and water heater from, oh, maybe 1940.

I usually shower at the gym.

I will bet anyone that my father takes the quickest shower in the world. I swear he is in and out in just very few mins. I don't remember ever timing him but its dam short. LOL

When he was younger and working he didn't have time to waste he told me. So quick and fast he was and still is pretty much.

Anyway myself I can take long or short showers. Sometimes you deserve a long shower and other times a quick one will do.

Anyway that was just me talking away. lol :)

    ahhhhhhhh...i LOVE long showers!

the whole shaving thing for women, definitely true! when i used to shave (i've since had laser and now no need - bliss!) i couldn't get out of the shower in less than 20 minutes, usually 30. now that i don't shave, i am usually out in 10-15 minutes, unless i am purposely taking a long shower simply to enjoy. my hair takes me the longest time to wash/condition/comb thru b/c it is quite long, also wash face, body sponge and sometimes pumice stone on the feet. OUT of the shower tho, still need to moisturize top to bottom, so i guess 20-30 minutes total bathroom time. i shower in the evenings, make my lunch the night before....so i usually leave myself a half hour in the morning for breakfast, make-up/hair and decide what to wear/get dressed. i love it. :)
    Stay with me...

One of my old roommates took like 20 minute showers. We never understood why it took so long since he's like 5'9" 130 pounds (on a good day). You'd think with such a small surface area it wouldn't take so long...

I can take either long or short showers. Usually it's short showers during the week because of a lack of time for getting ready for work as I like to sleep until the absolute last possible minute. On the weekends, I take longer showers mainly for the fact that I'm not quite as rushed like during the week. If I've been doing something strenuous like moving furniture, a lot of yard work, etc. I can just sit in a steaming hot shower. That hot water helps make your muscles feel a lot better.

When I was growing up, I hated taking showers...well, hated bathing to be more exact...and I used to take the fastest showers ever. My dad would joke that he and my mom should call the Guiness World Records people and see if I could break any kind of record. He would also joke that it was a wonder that I got clean with as quick as I showered.
