Hangover Cures

After a wild bachelor party last night, here I am sitting on my couch trying to not to move because I my head is pounding. I took my usual 2 Advils and a couple of glasses of water which doesn't seem to be working, and I thought it would be a good idea to see what other people do the day after.

And you can't say "don't drink", because that's boring.

You gotta get your body re-hydrated - so yeah - plenty of water and I usually eat a lot of protein (just seems like my body craves it)...and SLEEP. Hope you feel better soon.

  • first of all Excedrin works the best as far as pills go. next go get something greesy like pizza. Then go have a beer....gets you back to normal. At least does for me

A few times. And, it was done when I knew I would be drinking more the same day...
It's not bad(if drank very fast), not to be sipped.
The key is-use a light beer, even a pale ale... no dark beers. A buddy of mine uses V-8(more vitamins and minerals)

I get full day hangovers and have never found a cure. They're brutal. Makes me not want to drink a lot of the time. Sucks... :(

I'm going through that right now. Of course come Friday I'll be at work, waiting to start drinking.

Yeah :o About once a week, I swear I'm never drinking again and I MEAN it.

At my worst, I was drunk 12 hours after saying that :p

If I'm feeling queasy from a hangover, I find McDonald's works best to settle my stomach (believe it or not; the rest of the time McDonald's gives me a stomachache). I think all the salt helps your body retain the water it is so deparately lacking during a hangover....

preparation is key. Sure, water and advil the night before are good but better if you drink vitamin water (whatever brand of your choice, my preference is Propel) - one to two bottles seems to do the trick for me. If I only have one at bed time, I'll have another in the morning plus two regular waters (yes, you should feel as though your teeth are floating, otherwise, you're not hydrating yourself enough). Add some Excedrin Migraine, even if the headache is slight, plus a banana for breakfast. I find most of the time that if I eat a regular breakfast (instead of the greasy food my hungover body is craving), I feel much better, faster.

A hair of the dog martini with a traditional Shepherds pie (with lamb) at a local Irish pub tends to work too.

    good luck with that!
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

and I should add: if I'm sick to my stomach (complete with dry heaving every last ounce out of me), all bets are off. I go for Pepsi.....sugar, caffeine, fizz.

I don't usually get hangover but the morning after a heavy drinking night I always try to drink as much gatorade as I can. Someone also said go to McDonalds. Believe it or not this is really good advise. Gatorade + McDonalds and your all set.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Vitamin B-complex with water before you go to bed will equal a much smaller, less shitty feeling hangover the next day.

PM me if you want the biochemistry behind it.
