Two finger typists how do you do it????

Burned my right hand tonight cooking dinner and I gotta ask, now I'm sitting here picking out the letters with my left hand, ever so slowly, how the hell do guys do it????? :D

I'm deadly serious too, posting is hell with only one hand!!! :D

Come share your typing techniques with me please, I might need to learn a new way for a few days. :o

    I don't understand it either! Even with one hand i'm quicker than some people... it bemuses me :o
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    good luck in your recovery.. never really been properly burnt but it seems like one of the most painful injuries.

    meh! I'll be ok aside from an overdose of frustration and having to sit here with the fingers of my right hand in a cup of water. :rolleyes: :D

    I used to be a very efficient two finger typist but this one handed bizo is driving me nuts!!! I miss touch typing and it's only been a couple of hours!!! :o

    Here's a tip! Don't stick your hand in a boiling pot of rice!!! :eek: :rolleyes:

    Thanks Brisk. :) I've been burned on numerous occasions. Actually I'm the queen of random odd burns!!! :D:o This is just another stupid one I guess.

    It hurts like hell but I'll have a couple of painkillers before bed and wrap it up with some gel on and hopefully it'll be better in the morning. :)

    I've got a T shaped scar on my forearm... one part was accidental with the straightners.. the other part was a couple of weeks later from the edge of the oven :eek: . I look like an emo kid, lol, I've been asked if I did it myself :o

    Ah!! So we have odd and embarrassing burns scars in common too then Hels? :D

    I've got a beauty of a burn scar on my inner arm, just above the crook of the elbow where this eejiit guy at school years ago accidently shoved a woodburner into my arm during art class. He was trying to pinch my arse and when I took him to task over it he swung around in his embarrassment and lodged the damn thing in my arm. We were both so busy exchanging embarrassing conversation that neither of us noticed it burning me till we smelt the flesh burning!! :eek: I can't count how many times some one has asked me if I was a junky in the past because that's what it looks like now. :rolleyes:

    And don't get me started about the iron or the heater. :o

    Yeah, the cold water is really helping, very soothing, not sure how I'll go trying to sleep with my fingers in a cup of water though!!! :D

    :eek: that sounds terribly painful... and that was from school? Musta been bad! Hahaha... do NOT sleep with your fingers in a cup of water... do ya not know what's supposed to happen then? THIS is when the frozen food or the ice pack comes into play :)

    For the typing thing, I don't type properly but I don't 'hunt and peck' either so I'm afraid I won't be much help. I guess, just keep at it and you'll pick up some speed after a while.

    Yeah my skin was burned black!! It was gross!!! :eek: And it hurt like hell!!

    There's no way I could sleep with my hand in water so I'll have to try the ice pack, although that'll probably have me busting for the toot half the night as well!! :D

    Sorry about your hand. Do you have any aloe vera? I learned touch typing early on in school. I also have no idea how two finger typists do it. You could just use your good hand and leave spaces for the letters you would have typed with your burned hand:

    and let us fill in the blanks. It could be a fun game, "What's Jeanie trying to say?" :D

    Yeah, I learned about 20 years ago, and it's not so easy to go backwards! :o

    Sounds like a fun game!! :D Only don't we already play that now most of the time even when I speak plain english with no missing letters? :p:D

    I can't even use drinking as an excuse because that was last night! You only need 1/4 cup of chardy for risotto, no point letting it go off! Best to drink the bottle! ;)

    Typing with just a few fingers or only one hand isn't so hard.

    And damn, that's gotta hurt!

    My right arm is sort of ruined (something wrong with my elbow and collar bone-shoulder area) and I'm trying to do as much as I can with my left hand, which is my non-dominant hand. Brushing my teeth with my left is the hardest.

    I rule at ping pong, though. I think I'm better with my left than with my right. I'm going to keep practising my left hand skills even when or if my right arm is better.

    typing was the one class i always cut in HS. i always thought, wtf, i will never need to type...:rolleyes: i had no intention of ever geting a 'typing job'...and even now, while i do a wee bit, definitely no typist.

    and, like most things....practice! the message pit os where i perfected my two finger typing style and speed. :D i'm slow, but really pretty damn fast for only using my index fingers, and now it is so ingrined, i don't think i could ever break the habit. eh well.
