Since, there's a match.com thread, I figured I'd tell a funny story about this website.
One of my friends (let's call him Ted) dated a girl back in college (let's call her Ann M). Anyway, they broke up after two years of dating when Ted went out to pursue a career in acting out in another state (this was after college). Anyway, Ted eventually came back, a year or so later. They were still friends. This girl, Ann got engaged to some guy she was dating when Ted was gone and broke it off (no problems there). Anywho, Ted was approached on a social networking site by Ann M about one year ago. Ted didn't respond right away. Instead, he asked one of their mutual friends about it. The mutual friend said that Ann M was def dating someone, but maybe she wanted to try again with Ted, the mutual friend was as confused as Ted. Ted decided that he was willing to see if they were more compatiable.
He didn't want to get involved with her physically yet, because he already knew that aspect... he wanted to see if they clicked just hangin out. And since he had a wedding upcoming, he figured he'd invite her. They went together, Ted offered to drive her home afterwards (she lived 20 minutes away from the reception). He would need to stay at the hotel, however because he didn't live in that area. She asked if she could sleep in the same room. He said ok, and asked for a two bedroom room rather than a single. She then explained to him, once upstairs, that she only sleeps n_aked (which was new). She then tried to come on to him, but he wasn't ready and was starting to get turned off about how aggressive SHE was being. So, although they made out, he asked her to sleep in the other bed and went back to his own. He didn't want to deal with her assuming they were a couple, and by now she told him she was dating someone else... so he felt bad about that.
OK.... here's the punchline.... She's now on EHarmony commercials. The guy she was "dating" mentioned several times above, is the guy she married and who she is in the commercial with! They are all over each other in the commercial, talking about how they knew from day 1 and whatnot. It makes me laugh everytime I see it. HA!!!!

it does make sense that someone like that would turn to eharmony...using eharmony is like putting a sign on your head that says "please, I can't be alone, someone marry me, I'm desperate." god, I just hate the entire concept of eharmony.
HAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAA!
Yes. You got her name. I totally agree about that dude, too.
She use to be cuter. But, she was a complete control freak. That's why it's funny when she's saying "I'm the laid back one". The whole thing is a sham.
That's funny. Good story none the less.
You got to spend it all
first time I saw it I saw her and thought she was cute, but wasn't really paying attention to it....the first time I actually watched it and paid attention, there was something creepy about her...something about her eyes and the way she was looking at the camera I think
indeed
yeah well if you think she's creepy you should look at the guy more closely...
pure nightmare fuel.
That Ted guy is a homo!!
She was naked and came on to him and he said NO???
What a nut job!!!!!!
Where is NYPJ1 in all of this. I gotta know what he thinks of this Ted guy lol
Sweep the Leg Johnny.
Yeah no shit. She would have sold me when she stated that she sleeps in the nude..........wtf.

I have no idea how this ad campaign isn't working AGAINST eharmony.

so you are saying you would sleep with someone you didn't find the least bit attractive just because they were there?
Its not that he didnt find her attractive, he must have, they dated. He didnt like her coming on to strong is what I got from it.
If I was single and in that situation, I would have attempted to satisfy her is all I am saying. Everyone is different but I still find it funny that you have a girl whos acting like a tiger and then ..........nothing. Each to their own.
gggrrrrr

well he said they made out-probably just sent her back to her own bed because she was the type of person who would read into it all.
The guy broke up with the girl, but dated her for two years (maybe more). She seemed a bit off to him, because he heard she just broke up with her fiance. He didn't want to F with her head. More importantly, he didn't feel the need to sleep with a girl he's already slept with just for the sake of doing that. He wanted to see if she was datable in the relationship sense. Sure, it probably would've felt good. But, at this point in the night, he knew she was dating someone else. She just split up with her fiance AND....
...he realized after a night of hanging out with her she seemed to be a bit crazy. To him, she had completely changed. It didn't seem right. He wanted to (cause he was a guy), but he knew the results would be bad. So, he didn't. I respect him for that. I would've done the same.
Anyway, ever watch Fatal Atrraction? WOuld you want to just do her? If so, YOU are crazy.
Couldn't have said it better. He didn't want to get her hopes up, because he would have felt guilty. Plus, she was acting very strange and he didn't like that.
obviously he did the right thing, Im just being the devils advocate here. I felt sorry for her....she had desires...DESIRES I SAY!!!! Now the poor lass is married to some lameass she probably didnt really like but was forced to because of all the green that the old guy from EHarmony threw at her and now she's in this loveless relationship waiting for your friend to satisfy her.
It's actually quite sad really.

The sarcasm was very much appreciated.
If you put it that way, I guess it is very sad.
