So my beloved little homeland/province made the weird but true section of the New York Post :D:D

For years when people went to the mainland they would bring back cans. I talked to my mum tonight and she said people were having can parties... couldn't even keep the stuff on the shelf. :o

I swear it isn't as backwards as it sounds :p

    Residents of Prince Edward Island, Canada, popped their tops after a 35-year ban on aluminum cans was lifted and they were finally able to enjoy fizzy drinks from the containers Saturday.

    The cans had been banned from the province to preserve jobs at a local bottling plant.

    Crazy hey, girls??? :D Some people loved that we didn't have cans... oh wait that didn't sound right :p

    I can't believe it was thirty five years... I could have sworn I remembered them???? I guess not.

    But eventually the Seaman family sold the bottling plant when he retired. Oh well I guess even progress comes to PEI... just wait until they get the internet :p

    It is near Nova Scotia but I moved to Calgary in October... where it is less beautiful and no water :( so yes I am West... but c'est la vie.

    Yes and the mountains are lovely... but it is no PEI!!! I miss living near water :(

    can you canoe up the Atlantic to PEI? Yes, canoes...ain't got the money for a boat.

    Beer is good... but better from a bottle :) Can take the girl out of PEI but can't take the PEI out of the girl :p
