The team that finished last in the NHL in 2007-08 continued the off-season overhaul Friday night by dealing defensemen Filip Kuba, Alexandre Picard and a 2009 first-round draft pick to the Ottawa Senators for restricted free-agent blue liner Andrej Meszaros.

I know I know..Im anxious for that too! but we need an nhl thread anyways to keep track of shit for the diehards. We have an Oilers, Rangers, Penguins, Flyers, Canadiens, Leafs and Avs thread as far as I know right now so why not make one for just everyone esp the teams without a thread

19 days till preseason and i can't wait... going to be a good year to just watch some hockey. My team isn't going to do much but it'll still be fun to watch them progress (play hard and i'll be happy guys). I'm going to do an early prediction of the same finals as last season, with the wings repeating.

As for news...
apparently the wings have all but signed Chelios to a 1 year extension. This dude is crazy, will be playing in the nhl until atleast 48 years old. Insane!!!

Theres gotta be a point where there demise starts right?? They been good since like early mid 90's already and despite finishing 1st they always have these prospects coming out the woodworks?!?!? wtf??

It's hard to be happy after you lose (the bar I was at for Game 7 '05 was like bein at a fuckin wake)....but man it's a fun ride....drunk three nights a week for two months straight

I don't know when the Wings will start to slip...they are def THE model for all NHL teams. Scouting, development, coaching and management are all top notch. And because they're so good, they have no problem getting guys like Hossa to sign there. Funny...their fans are so spoiled that they dont' even have their own thread here, and if I'm not mistaken, they were having trouble filling Joe Louis last year.

you know what must REALLY suck for the devils?? they got a brand new arena which is usually even emptier than the last one and is always taken over by Ranger fans during their meetings.

Hey kyle, the problem with their attendance is that Detroit has a bad economy I guess and that area isn't so great supposedly from what I've read...I dunno.
