She had a reputation for being a slut, so her loss received little attention.
that's so messed up. every life starts out a blessing usually. no less tears are lost over someone's untimely death...........Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......

I think I'm going to talk to school principle about playing "Its Ok" at their senior banquet tomorrow night
I'm sorry you're going through that. It's never easy. I lost two teammates I grew up with my senior year in a car crash. Always talking about what we'd go on to do that summer, and go play college ball together. On and on, and then everything is cut short. It happens, and that's why we can't take any day for granted anymore.
Be strong, and I wish you the best in the coming weeks. Those are the hardest. Remember the best.0 -

So sorry for your loss and for all of those who posted about losing someone in this thread.
Not that drunk driving had anything to do with this particular instance, but anyone who reads the story I'm posting and even CONSIDERS getting behind the wheel after drinking . . .
caution; this is a VERY, VERY DISTURBING story. I almost couldn't get through it.
hopefully posting it here will make someone think twice

sponger wrote:I think it's pretty obvious that I was merely stating what an awful tragedy it was that people could be so preoccupied by social standing to the point where it precludes the recognition of even the most universal forms of compassion.
If you read into it as though I was making jest at the expense of personal devastation, then perhaps it is a reflection of the shallow depth of your own level of compassion.
Or maybe you're just looking for the opportunity to appear offended as you believe it makes you look dignified.
In any case, your comment, not mine, is the one that is uncalled for and socially inappropriate. Did your parents not teach you any manners when you were growing up?
I'm wondering if I shouldn't buzz the mods so that they make sure you understand for future reference why it is not OK to highjack a someone's thread by making it into your own personal show of indignation.
For the record sponger, I totally knew what you were saying!!
It's a tragedy in any case! And so the lion fell in love with the lamb...,"

another Long island story. Horrible, absolutely horrible. And the drunk who did it is a total douchebag. He tried "swapping spit" with another inmate in order to have his blood test thrown out, since the DNA wouldn't be a match

I hope that guy is getting some serious prison justice for what he did to a 7 year old girl, as well as the rest of the victims, including the limo driver, who also died0 -

Shit, it's been a while since I last shed a tear, but that is a horrific story.
And to the OP, you have my sincere condolences. A girl in my class died in a jet-ski accident when we were 17 and a childhood friend of mine took his own life when he was just 16, sometimes life just isn't fucking fair.0 -
