Got any favourite hosts? Do you enjoy listening to someone with completely divergent opinions from your own, and love shouting at the radio at what a buffoon this person is? Or is there a host who has you nodding at their sagacity?

Ian Collins, preferably when Chessy was the foil to his recent-ish right-wing views.

I think a lot of you would like Rick Emerson. He's a local talk radio guy in Portland Oregon. Not an asshole at all. His show is really a feeling of sitting down for a couple hours every day and bullshitting with a friend.

They talk about pop culture, music, politics, the proper use of punctuation, a love of easy mac, nail gun accidents...

I've never heard him say that & I listen to him a lot. He does complain about doctors overmedicating our children instead of living a healthier lifestyle and I do agree with that.

Savage made the remarks last week during a broadcast of his radio show, sparking a firestorm among autism groups. The host said autism is the "illness du jour" and children do not have a father around to tell them to stop acting like a "putz."

"You know what autism is? I'll tell you what autism is," according to a copy of the broadcast captured on mediamatters.org. "In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is."

There you go... in 99 percent of the cases...
Honestly I know parents that want to blame their children's behavior on a disease or ailment when that is not the case, they are just bad at parenting. Savage believes in autism, just not the misdiagnosis. You should listen to him, not read about him by someone with an opposing viewpoint out to make him look bad.

I do listen to him...he's a clown in my opinion...his whinny accent is amusing..

and I work with children diagnosed with autism and can tell you that 99% are not parenting issues...

perhaps you could try and be more critical of your boy savage...

I have a great plumber, however, he brings a boombox into my home when he's working and listens to nothing but conservative talk radio. He does great work and he's really affordable but I still feel as though I am letting myself down by not smashing it over his head.

It's because of conservative talk radio dipshits that people in this country still believe that Iraq had WMDs and was involved with 9/11.

I don't think parenting has anything to do with the behavior of autistic children. Glad we agree on that one.

Getting back to the thread topic, I also listen to Armstrong & Getty

Um no, that would be stupid people's fault........I wouldn't blame talk show hosts for it. Granted there are many whack jobs on the radio but you have to be stupid to believe half of it.

    Is he still on Talksport?
he does the 10-1 evening slot occasionally, but it's often the tory political broadcast Collins now that he's a member of Westminster Press Gallery and spends his days loitering round the Commons.

yeah, Collins is on during the wee hours....suit you Fins. Occassionally he sits in on the mid morning show for Gaunty (which is always a welcome relief).
Talksport is my listen of choice throughout the day, Brazil, Hawksby and Jacobs, Durham and Wright....help me through a long boring shift :)
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

I've seen him on the BBC occasionally, reviewing the papers and talking in that transatlantic drawl of his.

As for Talksport, I didn't think that anyone could fuck that station up more than Kelvin MacKenzie did, but Moz Dee's done a spectacular job of making it pretty unlistenable.
