I'd be willing to bet that in real life you would find me to be one of the nicest people you ever met... And you would always be safe in my presence, especially if we were in the mountains.

    ha..maybe.

I guess the real difference between me and most hippies is our definition of karma. I am absolutely a peace loving, dirt eating, tree-hugging, artistic hippy in every sense of the word. However, I believe sometimes karma needs a shove in the right direction. I don't wait around for the cosmos to take care of the bad guys for me when I am quite capable of doing it myself. I believe in standing up for what is right... always.

I will take that further. I don't believe in Karma. It can stay on the bookshelf and collect dust for all I care. Love your post! Justice and peace. I am more like an amazonian hippie! I make a living as a Registered Massage Therapist(15 years), I kiss trees, I walk the earth(I have no vehicular licence), Ihave long long hair(usually braided) and I will kick anyone's ass or will, if they stand in my way. Politely of course! love and peace.

While I did see the Grateful Dead approximately 70 times, and I'm a bleeding hearted liberal, and I live in the birthplace of hippies (San Francisco Bay Area), and my parents were hippies (they even took acid on a family vacation to Disney -- yes, while watching me, age 5 at the time, and my sister, age 6), and I'm a tree hugger, and a huge portion of my album collection is by 60's bands, I am NOT a hippie. Just not into hippies for some reason.
    Rock on!

as with all "labels" i agree with some aspects and some i do not. the one aspect that many hippies i have encountered hold is...."live and let live".

    nope.....not going to happen.

someone messes with my wife or daughter......i will deal with them...and i am a peaceful soul.
live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.
