What keeps you all going?

For me its music. its the reason I get out of bed. It comforts me. It soothes. It energizes. It blows my mind. I can go to a concert, and after it feel like I witnessed some religious experience, like it was life affirming. It gives my life purpose. It is everything. I am a straight edger and think that without music my life would be a worse wreck than it currently is (I am in the middle of a Quarter life crisis, trying to find myself and purpose).

    i've been clunging onto something we call "hope"
    but it's been too long and it ain't looking pretty at all.

    i know 4 friends who choose to leave this life earlier than normal and they might have taken the easy way out but they're probably free from all this chaos we call life.

    Music, Vegas, and a small group of friends that I enjoy. I haven't had a group of friends that have been this great to me since elementary school. We don't go out much since two of them are married and the third has a serious girlfriend, but when we do it's a blast. So I have shows and those nights to look forward to keeping me going.

    And the beach, and then more Vegas trips. :D

    Now? Music definitely. Knowing that no matter how hard life gets, it will always be better. The thought of future pearl jam shows. A fist full of people i can really say are frenz. Some amazing people I've met here. The beach. Wanting to travel and see the world. Oh and a freakin FUN friendship with EvilMerlin and the way we cant ever shut up!!! :D

    Damn straight homie! Oh and dude, my buddies bulldog attacked my phone when you texted me last night. I just got back from the bar when you texted me your plan for the weekend show and he was sleeping on my lap, and the phone was next to me and he took off for it like he was saving my life!

    Oh so back on topic, my two dogs are my other reason that I keep going. No way I'm leaving them short of their best friend. They're the two guys that know me best.

    Fear of the afterlife is what keeps me here. It would be great if I could push the "do over" button, but I worry that I'll come back as a dog in China, waiting to be hung up by my tail and skinned alive. It's absolutely atrocious what the Chinese do to dogs.

    Worse yet I could come back as a fly, eating poo and getting caught in a spider web.

    I dare not think of what it would be like to come back as a woman, having to wear make-up and carrying around a bottle of mace. I would rather eat poo and be skinned alive than be a woman.

    Awww, no you didn't. And Surfer didn't 'leave' you either. They're always there whether we know it or not.

    Oh another thing keeping me going...My BTBAM shirt I got Friday night. It's already my most favoritist shirt ever. I've worn it twice this weekend. When I bought it at the show, and then again last night. :D It's so comfortable...and I think I met more people last night than ever before...so it's already a lucky shirt hahaha.

    Waking up in the morning and actually feeling happy and glad to be awake. That never used to happen. Being happy in one area of my life has made me apprecaite the rest of it so much more.
