    The ending of Withnail & I makes me want to cry... which is weird considering that it's supposed to be a comedy. When Withnail recites Hamlet's "What is this quintessence of dust?" soliloquy in the rain at the end it's heartbreaking.

    I tend to find unusual films really sad. One of the most heartbreaking scenes I can think of in any film is this, in which De Niro doesn't speak one single word but says more than in any other scene in the film:

    It was so depressing I don't want to see it again because it will ruin the soundtrack for me.

    lol..some of you are actually including Saving Private Ryan. That movie had a happy ending...Private Ryan makes it back to the states to see his mommy, and to raise daughters with big boobies.
