Everyone sees the words money and kids and freaks out. ;)

What Purple was saying that the person in question wants a kid. So they're not having the kid just for money the way I see it. Also maybe they're are looking at this in the best interest of the kid. My Dad had a college education and my childhood was most likely better because of that, which has given me more opportunity to have and do things I may not have been able to do. I don't think this is as immoral as everyone is making this out to be.

Let us say you were thinking it's about time to have a child. Let us also say that there are some financial benefits (grant money for education) of having said child. Do you:

    A) Have the child (in the future) knowing that you will be able to support it with what you will gain (education) from having said child.

    OR

    B) Feel guilty and selfish for the rest of your life that you used said child to gain something.

I don't want to get into what it costs to have a child, childcare, etc....I'm taking that all into consideration when I ask this question. My friends and I have been going back and forth with this and no one can answer it.

I did not read the posts in here but in my opinion, the funds for children are not that bad. I expected it to be a lot worse then it is. I am sure as she gets older it will become more costly but I also think you can never be $$ ready. You ujust need to have the child when you are ready.

Oh and about having a child for the benefits......totally ghetto.

ummm...yeah. It is sad that this is actually a serious question.

I had to read it a couple of times to make sure I understood what she was really saying. That is crazy..if you are even contemplating having a child for "financial benefits" then you have no business procreating in the first place.

All Im going to say is if you or anyone else for that matter is thinking about having a child for the sole reason of reaping financial benefits then I would have to question your morals..or lack of them. It's just plain wrong. And anyone thinking of doing such a thing should think twice before defaming another one's character.

Wow..not info that I would think a sibling would want to be privy to..but that's cool that you guys are that close :).

It's really none of your business anyway, I have no idea why he would get you involved with this. It's funny how you and your family never gave a fucking iota about the relationship but now to meddle and bully..ahhh...you love it.

You brainwashed him nice and good. You are nothing but a bully.

Who or when I call people are none of your business. I can't believe Max would want to keep things "hostile" between us, life is too short in my opinion. I don't want anything at all from him, I had quite "enough" I feel bad that's he is being influenced by the pettiness of others. Why don't you let it go already?

Uhhh, not to be too harsh, but if you're thinking about having a kid to gain something financially you should have your parent priveleges revoked before they even start.
