finally getting home and fixing myself a gin and tonic

For me, warmer weather is all about gin and tonics.
I almost had some gin tonite but decided on a cocktail called a Kampai: vodka and plum wine. ie a glass of vodka on the rocks.
That made my day along with alot of other stuff.
Cupcakes in my mailbox made my day.
Filet mignon for lunch
Sushi for dinner
A new orchid, a bag of truffles and the Into the Wild dvd
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

thunder storms
my new job shaping up to be quite wonderful
no more company in my house and my life returning to normal
finding out I can schedule my classes on 5/9
thinking about cutting my hair (!!!!)
Walking can be a real trip

Ok I know this is lame......but I have 3/4 acre of a yard to mow each week in the summer. Because it is enough for my kids to go to school and do the couple of chores they already have to do, I take it on myself.
This morning I was ready to curse under my breath and hate every second of the whole thing, when I just started to think, "hey do a little at a time and when you are getting more pissed, stop." (I know brilliant thought but I tend to overdo almost everything, it seems)
So I did the front of the house, and did it completely by edging, spray painting the mailbox a fresh coat of paint, washing the brick with the hose, etc. and you know, when it was done, I saw how good it looked and I stopped and thought that I would do the backyard little by little this week and not get in a huff about it.
I know that is no bells and whistles, but I have learned recently that sometimes for me a good day is simply no tragedies happening.

In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........
