But, after watching the opening ceremonies, and then flipping channels, we came across "Blades of Glory" with Will Farrell and (oh, crap, what is his name?!?)...

The final scene in BOG was eerily similar to the opening ceremonies. I sh*t you not. The LED suits, the flying through the air...check it out if you don't believe me. :)

BTW, China did a kick-a job with it, and I really, really, really want one of those suits.

    Take care,
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

wow, lgt heavyweight boxing sucks much ass, sloppy, uneventful, all they do is tie the other boxer up? pitful display after 4 bouts so far. scoring system is wacked also. hope the other weight classes make a better showing.

I love the Olympics but I hate all the commercials and the endless hype hype hype about Michael Phelps and Shawn Johnson, etc. I wish they'd just shut up and show the events.

I'm female, but I have to say - those beach volleyball women are HOT.

those opening ceremonies were really great! How about that last torch bearer that was 'walking' on the wall? Whoa! That was cool! And the fireworks!

I should say I didn't see the 1st hour or so, but I got the gist of it and what I saw was pretty good. It was like 5 hrs, right?

i saw a LOT of it and I was blown away that all those people involved did not repeat an "act". Everyone had one part to do!!! I liked to see the athletes come through so I tried to stay awake!

I only saw a little of the Opening Ceremonies, but I did catch the fireworks across the city and the 2008 drummers. That was cool. Was just watching some of US and Netherlands in soccer. I missed the 2nd Half. Must have been a good one. They tied 2-2.

I was searching like hell for this thread to comment on what was the most incredible race I've ever seen. Just short of daughter winning gold in her competitive swimmeet in freestyle. Phelps going for those crazy 8 gold medals.

Lezak did an amazing job. It was definitely one of the most beautiful, exciting races I've ever seen.

    Also kudos to Sullivan.

The opening ceremony was awesome, the stadiums are awesome and the sport will be a spectacle.

Not sure what the Chinese people who had their homes knocked down, were given paltry compensation and now live in subways think. The rest of the world should have boycotted these games.
