I'm hoping for Balmer. Fuck $chultz, it's his fault you're in this situation.
True that!! No argument here on that fact. But, I think the two, options, for a lack of a better term, can work in concert with one another. Schultz wins his lawsuit to get the team back, and then sells it to the Ballmer group.
Feel sorry for you guys. Its not like Seattle doesn't support the team and the Sonics play in empty stadiums every night. That I could understand. Sucks.
I agree that is fucked up. Oklahoma is a shitty place to go anyway. On a more positive note, I hear you guys are getting a MLS team, if that is any consolation.
Yeah, we got a pro soccer team coming, so that's cool. And I also think we should try for an NHL team too. I could get into hockey, I think.
Reading all the article about Stern and Bennett just pisses me off....

I've already got my deposit down for season tickets to the Sounders in 2009. And we'd already have an NHL team if Ackerly and the Sonics weren't douches when the Key was being renovated. The NHL was looking to expand here after the success of the TBirds. Had the Key been build as a dual sport venue, an expansion team was ours. I've never attended a Sonics game since (and I used to go semi-regularly). I do feel bad for NBA/Sonics fans, though. This city has supported the team through good and bad. The Key could use a little work, but is an adequate facility for basketball. Stern and Bennett have been nothing but shady and dishonest through this entire deal.

honestly the only reason dallas voted against it is cause they dont want to lose any fans or money. the other owners care more about their teams in the playoffs than a team moving. i still think its a stupid move. wrong time to bring this up.
I will be what i could be
Once I get out of this town
file under no one cares. Teams move all the time, welcome to the present
Of course people care. And teams generally move when their support base dwindles and the economics forces it. This is a team that had fan support, a decent venue with an adequate lease, what we thought was decent ownership before the sale. The team is moving to a smaller market with an NCAA focus. But you are right about the present - a billionaire comes in, buys the team with the sole intention of moving it, tries to blackmail a city, tries to illegally break a lease, gets a corrupt league administration to support him, and moves it to hicksville. Yeehaw.

question for you guys. Why do other owners vote for a team thats wants to move to another city, why do other owners vote??? Im not a fan of baseball I live in mexico, soccer is my favorite sport and I would be very sad to hear they are moving it to another cuty and changing the name, so i this helps FUCK YOU DAVID STERN!!!!!
PD cool youll have a soccer team, the MLS is growing and you are getting god players in your league.

As far as i am concerned, it is a bad time to be an NBA fan anywhere in the country. This could happen to Boston, L.A., Denver, NY....anywhere. And it should piss NBA fans off all over the place. It could happen to your team too.
It did happen to my team a few years ago. I pulled for the Hornets when they were in Charlotte and was disappointed when they moved to New Orleans. However, I wasn't so upset about losing the douchebag owner, George Shinn. Even though the Bobcats suck, I'll take them knowing that Charlotte and the surrounding area doesn't have to put up with his shit anymore.
i'm not confident that they'll approve funding to improve the key.
it's going to be interesting to watch this custody battle play out. clay plans on abducting the former sonics tomorrow morning with the schultz case still on the horizon? can they force them to stay until it's over?
kinda sad...but everyone knew it was coming.
i really wish the m's were playing better.
are you ready for some football? i am.
PD cool youll have a soccer team, the MLS is growing and you are getting god players in your league.
thatd be great if anyone in america gave a fuck about soccer!
does this mean my shawn kemp jersey is gonna skyrocket in value?!?
and this OKC team is gonna be as popular as the WNBA... i feel worse for the players drafted to that shithole than i do for the seattle fans... im sure seattle will get a new team if the market is really as good as people are making it sound...
and yah someone already said it, but to everyone saying "yay for cuban!" it was a marketing decision on his part... whats the closest decent NBA team to OKC right now? dont get why the rest of the owners didnt protest it more
I hope this stupid move backfires and I think it will. The southern region is basically NCAA basketball country. The pro teams in Memphis, Charlotte, Atlanta and etc are secondary to college teams in those area.
I really hate basketball but this should never happen to anyone. Hope somehow through the lawsuits you keep your team or at least get a new one asap.

The NBA won't be the same for me anymore.
Seattle = Awesome
Oklahoma = ..Oklahoma.
To think, they almost did this shit to the White Sox in the late 80s.. my young, feeble mind would have resorted to being a Cubs fan.. FUCK THAT!
