With the exception of Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, fuck you all who voted to approve the move of the SuperSonics to OK.

No they're not. That was a decade (or more) ago when Ken Bering still owned the Hawks, and then, yes, he tried to take the team to Los Angeles. Thankfully that never happened and we have one of the best local owners for our NFL team in Paul Allen, now.

As far as i am concerned, it is a bad time to be an NBA fan anywhere in the country. This could happen to Boston, L.A., Denver, NY....anywhere. And it should piss NBA fans off all over the place. It could happen to your team too.

If this guy thinks Oklahoma City is a place for a NBA to to set up roots, they are very mistaken. There's a reason it doesn't have any pro teams and it is college football. I don't see this lasting 10 years tops.

why did seattle build a new football and baseball stadium but wouldnt come off the money for a new basketball arena?
  • gabersgabers Posts: 2,787
I agree that is fucked up. Oklahoma is a shitty place to go anyway. On a more positive note, I hear you guys are getting a MLS team, if that is any consolation.

yeah you're right. And what really sucks about this is that it has nothing to do with the fans and all to the owners, whereas many times a team moves out because of the lack of fans' interest. This isn't the case!

And the fact that the new owner has intentions of moving to his hometown of Oklahoma City in the first place shows what an idiot he is! Outside the Four Corners and Texas, most places in the South don't give a shit about NBA and care more about college basketball. I.e. Hawks, Grizzlies, Bobcats, are second class compared to the NCAA teams in their state. LSU might even be more popular than the Hornets. That entire region is reserved for college hoops!

The Oklahoma Sonics will fail miserably!

Add our very own Paul Allen to the exclusive list with Mark Cuban, being the only 2 NBA owners who voted against this move.

    Thank you both!

Fuck Off to the other 28 NBA owners.

why didnt anyone in seattle come up with the cash to buy the team so the "fuck" from oklyhoma couldnt buy the team?

and why didnt the city want to come off the financing for a new stadium?

i think the city needs to look in the mirror as why the team is leaving.

question: are you a pro sports fan?

do you not see something wrong with the trend of BILLIONAIRES giving local taxpayers the ultimatum: build us a new $500 million arena or we're bouncing?

$hultz made the deal to sell to a group from out of state. can't blame the city. maybe there were other bids?

    eff you, david stern.
    eff you, howard schultz.
eff you, 28 NBA owners minus Cuban and Uncle Paul.

dude,i live in indpls where i'm STILL paying taxes on a stadium that is getting ready to be cracked by the wrecking ball all for the honour to pay even more taxes for the new stadium.

i do see something wrong with that trend, and could have cared less if the colts had left town.....but,thats the way it is.

and,i'm paying taxes on a reasonably new basketball arena as well......

they tax the shit so much i cant go out to eat or go to a game, yet i am still paying for the privledge to have a pro sports team in my city.

but as for seattle.....someone came off the money for a new football and new baseball stadium......evidently someone said no mas when it came to basketball........thats just the way it is........and if someone wanted to pony up the money for the team to relocate, sorry about seattles luck.

untill we as fans say enough and quit going to the games and quit watching on tv thats how it will continue to be.

so yea,to answer your question,i am a pro sports fan.....

and in being one,i accept i will get fucked up the ass by the powers that be for the so called honour of having a hometown team.

Take the fans out, and the emotion, and the 41 year history in Seattle...this move makes no financial sense AT ALL to the NBA. Now add all that other stuff back in....

A BIG drunken FUCK YOU to David Stern and the 28 NBA team owners who voted against the city of Seattle today.

They are looking entirely at the short term here. OKC deal gets them money now, but it's not a sustainable market IMO.

    I agree.

I am still holding out slim hope that the Howard Schultz and/or the City of Seattle lawsuits will reign positive for us here...
