The invention of rye-less distillation of bourbon is one of the greatest moments in alcholic beverage history. I'll take a fifth of maker's over knob creek any day.
The best ever! 3 ice cubes, Maker's over the top, splash of water to get it all working together. Sit back and enjoy! Marker's is the only hard beverage I'll drink. Red wine, SA Boston Lager, and Maker's. Peace, J

Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
Elijah Craig 12 yr is my bourbon kick of late. Maker's comes in second, followed by woodford reserve. Maybe with my tax refund I'll pick up a bottle of Booker's.
any of you guys in the maker's mark ambassador program? This is my 5th year as a member.
Side Note - Anyone ever tried "Eagle Rare" bourbon....its a Ten Year Kentucky Bourbon from the Old Prentice distillery....the bottle is tall and skinny almost like a wine bottle.....very smooth straight up.

Finally got around to picking up a bottle last night and I've been working on it ever since. You're right that it is a very smooth bourbon. It has a "clean" taste to it too, which it is sort of a double-edged sword, IMO. It's nice to taste bourbon for what it is, but a distinct flavor is also nice too. Of course, I'm not referring to the fruity overtones of Knob Creek. An extreme example I can think of is Elijah Craig. It has a funky after taste that makes me think of compost, but it goes well with the pinch of bourbon. The Eagle Rare is still very good. Thanks for the recommendation.
i went to the Maker's Mark distillery last weekend, and they let us taste their bourbon aged for 2 years and 5 years (they bottle and sell it after 6 or 7 years), but it was cool to taste the bourbon as it ages...it would bite your tongue at different places, and the smells were completely different....if you ever have the chance to get down there I'd recommend it.

You Jack Daniels fans are, I don't know how to put this nicely, but you are Pussy-Ass Bourbon drinkers, and wouldn't know good bourbon from toilet water.
Sorry to offend....I'm proud of my Kentucky product though. Seriously though...Jack is a smooth whisky, and it will fuck you up....but there is no flavor to it....true bourbon drinkers don't fuck around with Jack or Crowne for that matter.

Well it's too bad you live in Kentucky... Scotland is where they make REAL drinks!
Scotch > Bourbon... imo
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

Well if you check out the label on CR it says "up to 70% neutral spirits" meaning Vodka as a filler. CR is the worst attempt at whisky there is. They just have the marketing game figured out. Maker's Mark is the way to go, and the Elijah Graig 12 is in the middle for me, but after Marker's I'll take a good Bushmills.
Peace, J

Anyways, I'm a Jack guy not Makers.. although I don't mind it.

I like good scotch....I just can't afford it on a regular basis.
