    what you are all failing to see is that this rumor came from bruce garrioch who has as much credibility as scott stapp. He's worse than Larry Brooks if that's possible. Malkin is going nowhere especially for camilleri who is a ufa next year. Don't you think they'd at least ask for kopitar or dustin brown? or better yet crosby's good friend jack johnson?
    Malkin just said he'd give the pens a discount, why trade him? i'd let hossa go before i'd trade malkin.

    And don't get me started on that blog from a rangers fan. prucha and callahan? are you serious. Quit making playstation trades and posting them as fact.

    We're not all forgetting. Some of us dismissed the rumors before going on to arguing.
    Aside from that, good point on Camilleri. He's in the same boat as Malkin as far as time periods go, so they'd have the same situation but be paying less dough.

    Yeah, camilleri alone makes that whole rumor not make a lot of sense. It gives the hockey fanatics something to talk about i guess.. That said i can't wait until july 1.

    As a HUGE Pens fan I have mixed feelings on this. The economics in the NHL make things like this inevitable as there is no way to keep everyone together very long.

    The way I see it, with Sid already locked up, they know they want to keep Fleury and Staal, but have to decide between Hossa and Malkin.

    Going by age alone it's hard to go against Geno, but Hossa looked better in the playoffs IMO and definitely has chemistry with Sid.

    Do you risk watching him walk next year and get nothing for him and his ego?

    Crosby is so good, a bag of broken pucks would have good chemistry with him.

    He was a bum in the cup finals, but if u want him for the regular season and parts of 3 rounds snag him up.

    Yeah really... and Rob Brown putting up 49 goals playing with Lemieux?

    As far as Malkin and Staal goes, I think they would deal Malkin first simply because of the salary he will be able to command. Staal is going to keep getting better and is a more sound defensive player and critical to the PK, yet won't break the bank to keep. Plus, they refused to include him in the Hossa deal so why would they change their mind anytime soon?
