    Well I didn't do very well for the December weight loss challenge, just stayed the same weight.

    But, since I spent $85 bucks at Whole Foods last night, I may have a head start on this thing this time.

    So, I'm in.

    Good thing it's a leap year, so we get that extra day. :o:p

    Re: the december challenge... I did great, but then fizzled out at the end thanks to some holiday pigging. Then I hit a plateau for a while and got sick, but I'm back on track!

    oh i'm doing it for sure.

    for the last month i kept telling myself and my wife "i'll start monday"....

    monday came and went without any workout or attempt to eat better food.

    i'm going out with a bang this weekend starting tonight....

    come monday, i'm hitting the gym 6 maybe 7 times a week, with no fast food, pop, any of that crap.

    italy is in march so i'm getting in shape just so i can eat myself silly while we are there...

  • this is *MY* month! i am sooooooooo in! december i joined but made no progress, but really...given all that went down, happy i just maitained. i planned on being diligent in january. i lost 5.5 pounds the first week...and now at the end of the month my grand loss for the month? 3 pounds. :o so sure, something...but didn't exactly stay diligent. but hell yes..i have long-term goals....for june! but i also have a BIG celebration march 1st i want to look/feel better for.....so yea......i'm in!

    Of course. You don't have to take it so literally. Just make a fitness goal for yourself (if you wish) and then challenge yourself to stick to it...and if you want, share your progress in this thread. :)

  • oh me please! I tried the December one, but with traveling and not being able to cook my own food I didnt lose anything. I stayed the same which ended up being a blessing in the end.

    I'd like to lose 10lbs in feb. Its a short month but this summer I'd like to wear a bikini for the first time. So 10lbs it is! I need to lose 20 more total but there I'd no way I'll pull off 20 in a month. I am going to drag my ass to the gym. Please please please motivate me!! I need a kick in the ass.

    i NEED to lose um....enough. :p and i WILL. my body is not designed to weigh what i weigh. i was always small. gggggrrrrrrrrrrrr. i don't think i'll ever be supertiny again, b/c i was tiny in HS! but man, what i weighed in my 20s is IDEAL. that's all i really want bak from my youth. my waistline. :D and i'm getting it damnnit!

    nothing is different this time...i'm just going to push myself.

    this means getting to bed earlier so i can wake up and go to the gym rather than telling myself i'll do it after work when i'm already tired...

  • I am shooting for at least 10 lbs this month. I weighed myself on the weekend (sans wool pants) and I was 239 So if I am 229 by the end of this month...shaweet hugiddy booooooooo.
    Will try and keep you posted via this thread.

    You should get a scale that measures weight and body fat. Gives you a better idea. Right now I'm 212/24% body fat. I'd like to get to 200/15%. (195/10-12% would be ideal, but I'll be realistic) But if I worked out a lot, I might be 212/10%. I wouldn't have lost any weight, but would be in much better shape.

    *fyi for justam - hosting a HUGE surprise party for my mom's 80th birthday...lots of friends and family, etc. be nice to look my best! it's just a good goal spot is all to motivate me! the next 'biggie' is our anniversary in june, but by then i want to BE at my goal a bit and maintaining.........:) at the end of the year i have a BIG occasion...turning 40! and i want to enter my 40s looking and feeling even better, or at least just as good...as i did at 20. it's definitely doable. and maybe i'll chop off all my hair and/or get another tat, we'll see....:p

    This is what I HAVE to do, 'cept it's to walk the dogs, so they don't eat the couch, etc. while I'm at work. Finally replaced the old couch, so the preservation of my new couch is HUGE motivation to wear these monsters out in the morning. :D

    This is what I HAVE to do, 'cept it's to walk the dogs, so they don't eat the couch, etc. while I'm at work. Finally replaced the old couch, so the preservation of my new couch is HUGE motivation to wear these monsters out in the morning. :D

    It's great for me with some very worthy side benefits. Kind of a 'more bang for your buck deal', no?

    Ah, well. Whatever works, right?

    I have found that walking the dogs alone isn't going to do it for me. :(

    I have to cut back on the beer (harsh), and eat more fruits and veggies, which I don't mind 'cause I love them. But, I need to decrease my intake of my favorite salty snacks (potato chips, french fries, etc.) and definitely eat less pasta and bread. Oh!!! And Starbucks, must avoid the siren call of my yummy, nummy Grande Soy Vanilla Latte with a slice of pumpkin loaf every morning. I have a lot of indulgences. :o

    I think it's going to be the whole traditional 'eat less, exercise more' program that will work for me. So simple, yet so difficult. :rolleyes:

    Also, I say do it by body fat % lost, not weight. You can measure it pretty easily with calipers or a tape measure.

    lol, took the words right out of my mouth! okay enough of this "i'll start tomorrow" crap, i'm doin' this! i'm even posting my stats, so i'll have no excuse: 5'8", 143 lbs. I'd like to get back to my old weight of between 130-135, plus get my nice biceps back! so here goes nothing!
