My personal Gmail account has 24,694 emails dated back to August 11, 2004 when Gmail was still in beta testing. I don't think I've ever deleted an email since I switched to Gmail. I'm using 1.5GB out of the 8 I have available haha.

I have never deleted an email. They all go into trash, but they are all accessible by search if I need them. It's a necessity. I have to dig up ancient emails all the time for work, so it's second nature to not delete them from my trash. You just never know.

That's been my mantra even with limited space. Pack it up and let server god sort them out.
i used to get yelled at every few months for having to many...so i would have to delete. now...the company says we keep every single email ever to cover our ass. i like it better this way.

wow...i have like 4-5 thousand in my sent and anouther 4-5 thousand in my deleted
