MINT Kenyon Hall 1st Edition for Sale

For our 1-year Anniversary my gf surprised me with an A/P version 59/100 of the Kenyon Hall print. It almost broke my heart that I had to tell her I bought the poster 1 month after she left for Americorps but then I saw the bottom left corner and almost cried tears of joy. She got it for me in August and has been waiting to give it to me. Sorry for the dialog but it was really sweet.

So, before I put up my 1st Edition on eBay, I want to know what kind of offers I can get by Pit members. Just to let you know I won't go lower than $200 and really not looking to trade b/c I'm using the profits to frame the A/P

PM me

Also, have I missed much? I've been in Iowa since Thursday.

Wow. How amazingly big of you coming here to sell shit for a profit. I particularly liked how your girlfriend gave you something great and you turned around and dumped another piece immediately. Get a fucking conscience.

well what would you do with a 1st edition and an A/P? would you frame both?
i have a conscience which is why i went to see her in Iowa for 5 days. I also paid $195 for it in June so I'm asking for $200 but you wouldn't know that cuz you're one of those people that puts his foot in his ass before he lets words out of his mouth
the six month average on EB is $205 and according to this thread, http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=305766 , $200 isn't a lot

6 month averages may not hold up in today's economy - I have noticed lots of stuff on eBay taking a considerable dip in pricing. Maybe not an awful idea to hold onto it for a while. Anyways, good luck. It's a great print, deserves a good home.

I only paid $25 for it at the Kenyon Hall show.

1st edition, as though there has been a 2nd or 3rd edition of it.

i've noticed that too...i can't say its a shame. It's supply and demand; the market is awful these days and ppl are losing alot of money so ppl are cutting their disposable income. But I never settle, so I will hold onto it until someone is willing to meet my price - I just don't have the kind of money to frame the A/P right now either lol

I've got 3 posters from '98 that I've been sitting on for 10 years... never got around to framing them and I should just find them a home. However, I know that they're worth a bit of money to the right buyer. I don't blame you a bit.

    good luck with the sale......

You know an easy street sold the other day on ebay for a tiny bit over 500, thats at least 250 down from normal levels....

    I'd hang onto it

Just make sure you store it between acid-free paper rather than kraft paper, in case you need to hold onto it for a while

Good luck man, and you might want to keep that gf around, she sounds alllllllllllright ;)

Kraft paper is fine unless you are going to keep it stored for more than 5 years. If you were framing it, I would say use acid-free materials but if you are storing it for a limited time dont worry. To be completely honest with you I have over 800 posters and I don't use any kind of paper to seperate the prints. I never have any issues in my 10 years of collecting. The only real issue with storing prints IMO is climate. You dont want to store your prints in a damp area or an extremely hot/cold area. The inks can be damaged if this occurs. That is why most Maui 98's have the white spot defect. Also make sure that it is in a smoke free area. I have received prints in the past that have been yellowed by being in a smoking environment.

I envy you having 800 posters...you are truly an ART collector
will the posters be affected by cannibis smoke? ;)

    i scored a s/n from klausen! :)
then scored one from 10club. the 10club one, i gave it to someone, birthday gift style! :)

i'm doing the same thing too with the ed chicago one.
i scored a s/n from klausen. friend sent me one from the show, freebie style. so, i'm passing that down to somebody who needs one.

gotta love the gift of giving. don't you?

Trade the 1st ed. to someone here. We would then give you a standing ovation.
BTW, I'll trade you my Ames Hawaii for it.

same here - scored the AP, then sold my 1st at face + s/h. I'd rather make another PJ fan happy than try and make a profit on something I have 2 of.

No doubt, was more than happy to do it. But what I don't understand is all of the negative talk about "flipping" newer posters, when the same people sell their 96/98s for market value. Just because it is new people go ape-shit, but selling some 96/98s for hunderds of dollars when they cost $5-$10 back then is ok..??

I think most people acquired the 96/98 via trade and had to give up something of value for it...

Either way, I wouldn't recommend looking to sell here for the market value...expressobeans seems the way to go for that.

But to me, it doesn't matter how it's aquired. Whether cash or trade, the owner has some kind of monetary value tied up with the print.

i would sell things for face but when i paid $195 for the Kenyon 1st edition in June and then get the A/P as a gift, i'm supposed to sell the KH for face....yaaaaaaaaa rightttt (Wayne's World voice)

i also try and trade things foremost on the Pit but nobody responds w/offers
I appreciate the Hawaii offer but I wasn't at the show and am only interested in things in my Wanted category from EB (call me picky, but I call it wise)
