He scores .03 more tds per game against the Eagles. So that means for every 33 games he'll score 1 more td against the Eagles than the rest of the league.
so that stat really means nothing. Now if his rate was double the normal rate than it would be a significant stat.

If he plays 5 more years after this season and meets the Eagles 11 more times, he'll have 1/3 of a chance to score just one more td than he would against the rest of the league.

But you have to admit he is not being shut down by the Eagles as Petroc stated and in fact performs marginally better against them on a TD per game basis

We'll see if he can continue that "average." Before last night he had 2 Td's in 4 games (2 full years) against the Eagles with Dallas...that is .50 average if Im correct

fact..the Eagles in large part have shut him down..aside from 2 games. take last night for instance...he had a 72yd td catch and then only 2 other catches for 15yds...take that play away and Jason Avant had a better game :D

the Eagles are in no way TO's bitches...thats what hyped me up too..Sean Conisidine might be his bitch..but no one else

  • A couple of things I need to comment on here. First of all no one will ever be as in good of shape as Jerry Rice. That was what he was known for. In fact TO learned a lot from Rice about conditioning.

Next TO has done just fine against the Eagles. In the 2003 game where he had 1 catch for 20 yards he broke his collarbone in that game and only played about a quarter. I remember bc I thought the Niners had no chance on the road without TO but we ended up pulling out a miracle. Plus the Eagles have had a great defense TO's entire career so his numbers are legit against them.

Lastly he won't catch Rice if there is a god.

actually no I dont want him. I hold only ill will towards him cause of how he tried to dismantle the team for his own personal gain. I do wish he would do it to Dallas but the only reason why he hasnt is becasue Jerry Jones has given into all of his demands. We were fine before him and we will be fine after him. T.O is a great player, yes, but again like I said...this isnt an individual sport. Donovan McNabb is a great QB 26,046 yds and 175 td's ...also almost 3,000 yds rushing and 24 td's, 4 NFC Championship Games and 1 Super Bowl in 10 years is pretty damn good..when exactly was Tony Romo able to win a big game so far? isnt he 0-2 in the playoffs?

It will not be a foregone conclusion, but I think it is very possible. Jerry is a total class act all the way, T.O. not so much, but he is an all time great.

He is a great, but he is playing in a pass happy era in the league.

I mean Kerry Collins of all people is 15th all time in career passing yards and I doubt anyone considers him an alltime great.

How can you speak with such certainity about a stranger's intentions? Isn't just as possible that T.O. thought this might be his only chance to play in the super bowl which has been a dream of his since a little kid?

No, it was all about him. Remember after the game he was bitching because he didn't get more praise, saying things like "Brett Favre would have been recognized as a hero for doing that."

Well, wasn't he telling the truth? He wasn't exactly bitching about not getting enough praise (as you like to spin it), he was bitching about people putting him down for playing. Wouldn't you be upset if you put your career on the line to win a game and people were putting you down for it? And Favre would have probably gotten a statue built in his honor if he did something like that

Thought I'd bump this up as its been 14 games and almost a year since TO had a hundred yards receiving in a game.

He's a great player, but I think the days of him putting up big numbers anymore are long gone.

People, especially Dallas fans, really don't believe in this drop you take after 30. Sure, TO's a few years past 30....But BAM - all of a sudden it happens. It will/is happen/happening.

Actually these stats I originally posted are just fine!

TO touchdowns per game against Eagles .78 against rest of the NFL .75
TO average yards per catch against Eagles 16.3 against rest of the NFL 14.8

Bottom line he puts up better number against your Eagles than the rest of the NFL. Now for you original comment about the Eagles shutting him down and sounding stupid!!!

The way you average and then say he's doing better than the rest of the NFL is flawed. If you want to compare him that way, find his medians.

His averages against the Giants are about 1.1 TD's per game and averaging about 15 YPC.

Hmm...now there's a second team where he's better than the rest of the NFL, which using that way would include the Eagles. You're going to be able to pull out multiple teams and say that he's better against them than the rest of the NFL if you continue to just pull out one team and use them against his league averages.

You're going to find teams he demolishes that will pad his stats, and others that will reduce his averages where he just sucked. Just like finding his average against the Eagles, he had two games to pad those averages. In the end, he's still just playing at an average level against the Eagles when it's all said and done.
  • I certainly hopes he does not....what a shame it would be for that colassal prick, titty baby like that to take a record away from somebody like Jerry Rice.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
