So my original thread from way back when is gone, so I'm starting another one.

First topic-

Is anyone interested in the Clone Wars movie coming out? It looks kind of cheesy in that the characters' mouths don't match up to what they're saying. The cartoon looked better than this does. Still, the nerd in me really wants to see it in the theater.
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

I kind of want to see it... I'm waiting for my office mate to go see it. Based on his reviews will determine if I see it in the theater or netflix it.

Episodes 2 and 3 turned me off of any further Star Wars projects.

That being said, I did watch part of Phantom Menace on Spike last night. I still don't know why folks don't like that one. Much better than the two that followed...of course, I disliked Hayden as Vader.

  • I'm totally interested! The article in Newsday (NY) on Sunday was pretty positive...I fear that the ongoing animated series won't be too great though...just a bad feeling about that.

On a side note, in the article, Lucas is still talking about the live action series that he's hinted at for years.

    Explain yourself, man!

Ep III was arguably the 3rd best film in the franchise.

The live action is supposed to take place between Ep III and IV right?

I have to agree with this. Episode I just kind of left me confused at the end, although that could have been the pot. Ep. II was OK. I think the saving grace of that film was Natalie Portman (hot).

I did enjoy Ep. III, though.

I am looking forward to this:

I am taking my 10-year old to see it on Friday.

Life long SW fan I am, but I have no interest in seeing this. I don't know why. I guess I think it is not necessary sine they just did an animated Clone Wars.

Looking forward to the live action TV show more.

And PBM, really? You like Ep. I more than II and III? I thought Revenge of the Sith was a huge step up.

the original 3 Star Wars are all I'll ever need. that retarded kid playing Vader in Phantom Menace ruined any chance of me being interested in the new batch.

Hayden killed the franchise. Either he did a terrible job acting in both films, he was directed wrong or the dialog was written that bad.

His part was played like one big cliché.

III was good...could have been better without Hayden.

I agree those are the best way to go.

I actually liked seeing Vader as a kid...being young, naive and vulnerable. It showed where he came from and how he evolved into a monster.

Liam Neeson owned his role as Qui-Gon Jinn!

II was a waste...I don't see how you guys rate that above the Episode I.

Sadly, and I hate to publish this in public on the interwebs, but I saw them all about 5 times. I think I saw Ep III six times. And my wife still married me. ;)

I rate them about the same. The ending battle sequence puts II over the top. Incredible!

I blame Lucas. Terrible script/direction. The "romantic" scenes were nauseating.

Nope between 3 and 4. It's about the start of the Rebellion, and the Rise of the Empire.

It looks like the animated "microseries" as they called it is being written out of cannon with the new releases. Essentially, parts of Ep III already rendered that series meaningless. All indications are that the new film and series will be cannon and tie in directly to the overall storyarc.

Hayden was the biggest problem with the prequel, besides Episode I being a complete steaming pile of shit. Lucas completely dropped the ball with the prequels. They could have been great, even better than the original trilogy.

I will go see the new movie because my kids want to see it but if it wasn't for them I wouldn't waste my time, or my money, watching Lucas butcher the franchise any more than he already has.

Where is this one supposed to fit? I mean, Darth Vader is in Episode 3... so it can't be between 3 and 4.

From what I remember reading a while ago, GL said that Darth would not be the centerpiece of the live action series, so it could definitely be during that time period. I think they wanted to focus on the hunt for the remaining Jedi and some other storylines.

EDIT= Again, this is for the live action series. The new "movie" will take place between Eps II and III.

The live action series will take place between episode III and IV and will not focus on the main characters. He said that they may make appearances but would definitely not be the focus of the series. The new movie and the animated series all take place in the time period between episode II and III.
