Gargle with hydrogen peroxide diluted with water. That will kill any germs in your throat and numb it much much better than any lozenge, spray or other temporary fix.24 years old, mid-life crisis
nowadays hits you when you're young0 -

gargle with very warm water with salt and use chloraseptic spray... i think the spray kicks ass. I recommend the cherry.
I hope you feel better soon!!!!0 -
i hope you feel better soon and nah i don't have any remedies just deal with itjesus greets me looks just like me ....0

Oh man I completely missed this thread! so you are sick huh? strep throat is the worst. i sounded like i swallowed marbles. calling into work was hilarious.. my boss just kind of paused and couldn't understand me. wooorst
ok now that i've made you feel better... some things that will help.. def the antibiotics.. i don't know about you but i couldn't swallow anything at all. it was terrible! but the salt water trick that GTFLYGIRL said really does work. but just keep trying to drink liquids as much as you can.0 -

Thanks everyone, I've since tried a few of the suggestions. It's appreciated, but yeah like jose said, I just need to pony the fuck up and deal for a few days..next time I'll know better to hit up the Doc asap..'I want to hurry home to you

sorry you aren't feeling well....everybody's already suggested what i'd do. there's this tea called throat comfort (made by yogi tea), it really is very soothing, i like drinking it even when i'm feeling well. add a bunch of honey and it helps. gargling with warm salt water helps too..
take care, hope you feel better soon!0 -
deep throat a popsicle...
seriously though, sorry that you're sick...strep throat feels horrible...
but like others have said gargle with warm salt water...and use chloroseptic spray...stay away from ice cream, dairy is bad news with any kind of infection...stick with sorbet or popsicles instead.
i hope that you get to feeling better soon*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

ahhhhhhhhhh...classroom germs, don't miss them!
i think every first year teacher gets sick and sick sick.....after that you seemingly build up some immunity over time. sure, still get sick, but not nearly as much as that first year.
feel better champ!Stay with me...

Thanks and it's exactly what the Doctor said as well. I should get used to it for a while..lol..it sucks because otherwise my immune system is pretty strong and have never had strep throat and prior to this haven't been to the doctor in like 5 years or something..I thought my system would be prepared for the little fuckers with the beating it gets daily on crowded nyc subways etc..oh well....never had the flu either but now I'm considering the shot..'I want to hurry home to you

there is nothing like a classroom for germs! and the younger the kids, the grosser it is!and if you share any materials amongst your students, even worse! due to the nature of my subject, i washed my hands a million times a day...and i am sure that was a very GOOD thing to help cut back on the germs. none the less...the first year is always hell, on many, many levels.
take good care of yourself. eat well, proper rest, multivitimans...and yes, i am a believer in the flu shot. it may or may not work depending on what strains are about each season, but with a close to 70% accuracy, i like the odds of cutting down my chances for getting the hellish flu. working in an office environment really isn't too much better....but i do think considerably cleaner overall.i will be getting my free shot next week and encouraging my husband to do the same thru his own employer.
btw - i was sick as a dog for alomst a month with a hideous cold..simply b/c i worked well over 150 hours of overtime in a 1.5 month period due to our busy season ...so no time to recoup! only now am i - fianlly - feeling better.Stay with me...
